Remember every father and fellow countryman

General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed that he hopes that the vast number of literary and art workers will adhere to the people's position and write an endless people's epic. I am deeply encouraged. The "people's epic" opens a door to literature and art for us - why epic poetry is mostly difficult to circulate, I think, is precisely because it has lost "the people".

Not long ago, two villages in my hometown were merged, and hundreds of villagers voted to take the name of the novella "Fenghuangqin" that I wrote in 1992 as the name of the village, called Fenghuangqin Village. After learning the news, I was particularly moved, the novel has been published for almost 30 years, and it is still worried by the villagers, which also confirms what the general secretary said, "The people's satisfaction or dissatisfaction is the highest standard for testing art."

If a literary and artistic worker only cares about his own acres and three parts of land, and does not know what "people" is, then what reason does his work have for the people to remember? Therefore, the greater the work, the more affectionate and humble tribute to every village and every street and alley in the fireworks world. The more deeply the literary and artistic works remember every father and fellow villager who faces the loess and turns his back to the sky, every neighbor who works hard and reads in the rain will be rewarded by word of mouth. Only by adhering to the people's nature of literature and art can we save blood for history and cast the spirit for the times.
