On the third day of the first month of the fourth year of Jiaqing, Qianlong died at the age of eighty-eight. Qianlong was once the emperor of a country, and the funeral was very solemn, and there were many funeral items. He reigned for sixty years, served as emperor for four years, and in the past few decades has received famous paintings and ancient paintings and rare antiques. After Qianlong's death, these things were also buried in the underground palace of Yuling. Among them, Qianlong's favorite Nine Dragon Sword before his death is the most legendary. It is said that most of the people who received this sword were unlucky.
In July 1928, Sun Dianying, the great thief of Tanglin, let the sword see the light again. On the way to suppress the bandits, Sun Dianying passed by the Tanglin Tomb and saw that the mausoleum was magnificently repaired, so he had other thoughts. Coupled with the lack of military expenditure at that time, he decided to rob the tomb. He first drove away those who also wanted to rob the tomb, and then surrounded the Qingling tomb in the name of military exercises. Sun Dianying and his subordinates looted the Tombs of Qianlong and Cixi overnight, and the funerary belongings of both were stolen and filled with dozens of cars.
A month later, Sun Dianying's tomb robbery was exposed, and all sectors of society strongly demanded that the murderer be severely punished. In order to calm this matter, Sun Dianying, under the guidance of others, took out a lot of treasures and gave them to the magnates at that time. He gave the two largest of the Qianlong Dynasty pearls to Dai Kasa; he gave the "golden jade watermelon" to Song Ziwen; and the jewel from Cixi's mouth to Song Meiling. After some reckoning, Sun Dianying's tomb robbery was over. In 1939, Sun Dianying entrusted Dai Kasa to give the Nine Dragon Sword to Lao Jiang.
When Dai Kasa saw the sword, he was shocked. The sword is about 5 feet long, the hilt is very long, and it is carved with nine golden dragons, symbolizing "nine nine to one", and the scabbard is made of precious shark skin, inlaid with red sapphires and diamonds, which is extremely valuable. It happened that at that time, during the War of Resistance, Dai Kasa ordered Ma Hansan, a special agent of the military command, to temporarily keep the sword.
After Ma Hansan saw the Nine Dragon Sword, he also had selfish intentions and tried to take it for himself. In early 1940, he was captured by the Japanese. In order to save his life, Ma Hansan offered his sword to the Japanese female secret agent Yoshiko Kawashima. At this point, the sword fell into the hands of the Japanese. After the victory of the War of Resistance, the female agent was captured by the military command. When Dai Kasa went to Peiping to interrogate Yoshiko Kawashima, she told her about Ma Hansan's rebellion, and not long ago, Ma Hansan took the Nine Dragon Sword from his home.
At first, Dai Kasa suspected that Yoshiko Kawashima was stirring up discord, but when she told the story of the sword, he was sure that Ma Hansan had really betrayed. Because he asked Ma Hansan to keep the sword, few people knew, Kawashima Yoshiko had never seen the sword, how could he describe it in detail? When Dai Kasa learned of this news, he immediately sent someone to secretly investigate Ma Hansan. Knowing that the matter was revealed, Ma Hansan took the initiative to return the Nine Dragon Sword to Dai Kasa, and also gave him a lot of gold and silver jewelry, antique calligraphy and paintings, etc., and the matter was settled.
On March 17, 1946, Dai Kasa took the Nine Dragon Sword to Nanjing by plane to meet Old Chiang. Who knew that the bad weather caused the plane to crash, the plane was destroyed, the fire burned for several hours, and the sword was picked up by the farmers in Jiangning and brought home. When the military commander sent people to clean up the scene, he found that the sword was missing, so he looked around. Finally, the sword was retrieved in the hands of the peasants, and the scabbard and hilt had long been burned to the ground.
The people of the military command buried the sword together with Dai Kasa, and because Dai Kasa killed many communists and progressives during his lifetime, in order to avoid retaliation, the military commander specially poured cement slag into the tomb to strengthen it after placing the coffin. Despite this, Dai Kasa's tomb was razed to the ground in 1951, and the final destination of the Nine Dragon Sword is unknown.
