However, the United States has just finished driving, and it has rushed to Indonesia, the world's most populous country. You know, US President Biden just held talks with Indonesian President Joko Widodo just last month, and also advocated that Indonesia's leadership in the Indo-Pacific region cannot be ignored. It didn't take long for U.S. Secretary of State Blinken to visit Indonesia again, and it was clear that the U.S. purpose was not simple.
According to the New York Times, Blinken arrived in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, on December 13 and will hold in-depth discussions with Indonesia on democratic issues, economic and trade cooperation, defending freedom of navigation, and network security in order to reach consensus. In fact, Indonesia, as the largest country in Southeast Asia, has an influence in the region that cannot be underestimated. The frequent visits of senior US officials to Indonesia are actually aimed at coaxing Indonesia to board the US "anti-China" chariot, so as to use Indonesia as a starting point to further expand its counterweight and suppress China's power in Southeast Asia.
In other words, once the United States says that Indonesia is equivalent to tearing a hole in the iron plate of Southeast Asia, it will be relatively easy to gradually integrate the Philippines and Vietnam into the Indo-Pacific strategy. In fact, judging from the recent trends of the United States, the United States is seeking to break the pattern that Southeast Asian countries do not choose sides between China and the United States. In order to deal with China, the United States has secretly plotted two major plots.
First of all, the United States has successfully joined up Australia, Japan, India and other countries, and established a so-called quadrilateral mechanism to act as a thug for the United States to "resist China." Once the United States tears open the mouth of Southeast Asia, it is foreseeable that the Biden administration will commit to forming a new alliance system in Southeast Asia to better implement its so-called "Indo-Pacific strategy" and pool its efforts against China.
In addition, the recent successive visits of senior US officials to Southeast Asian countries have also exposed another trick against China, that is, to weaken the weight and influence of the Chinese economy in the global system. At the Group of Seven, the United States proposed to spend $50 billion to build an industrial chain system that excludes China in the Asia-Pacific region. It is not excluded that Blinken's trip to Indonesia is to attract Indonesia to join the "industrial chain reconstruction plan" of the United States.
After all, it is not a day or two that the United States wants to rely on cheap labor in Southeast Asia to reap another wave of dividends, and it is the insidious plot of the United States to establish new industrial clusters in Southeast Asian countries at low cost and completely strip Chinese manufacturing.
