Serie A is no longer a league that attracts global attention as it was in the 1980s and 1990s, when all the best players in the world moved to the Apennines for astronomical prices. Today, Italian clubs – even the top clubs in the league – can't buy famous stars, and they have to work harder to develop players than in the past. This has led to a rapid growth of more young people – so here are five new names that will impress in the 2021-22 season.
Beto (Udinese)

Beto was completely unknown when he came to Udinese on loan from Portuguese side Portimão last summer, with Serie A side with buyouts. But the 23-year-old immediately proved himself to be a force that cannot be ignored, at least physically. Beto is 1.94 meters tall, has ferocious strength and speed, and has been called by some as the "right-footed version of Lukaku". As his strike partner Deulofeu told italian media, the description was not very accurate, but "Beto has this mentality and is able to push the game on the pitch and improve the quality of every game." We will take on more responsibilities together and score a lot of goals together. "They did a lot of things and Beto has contributed seven Serie A goals.
Menion (AC Milan)
In football, there is nothing more important than successfully holding the goal. After Schmeichel left Manchester United that year, this problem plagued the Red Devils for many years. Many fear a similar problem will plague Milan when Donnarumma moves freely to Paris Saint-Germain this summer. However, Menion's performance was so good that fans instantly forgot about Donnarumma's presence. Aside from the bad game he lost to Liverpool in the Champions League and a period of bad luck on the sidelines, Menion has been performing well. He looks like an omnipotent goalkeeper, commanding his penalty areas and defenses with authority. He will certainly soon become the main goalkeeper of the French national team.
Bremer (Turin)
Bremer has been highly regarded over the past period of time, with the Brazilian closely linked to joining the Premier League last season. However, it was in this season that he really exploded, proving that he was ready to join a top club. The 24-year-old was undoubtedly the best defender in Serie A in the first half of the season, although he played for Torino in the middle of the table. The centre-back has excellent speed, aggressiveness and superb aerial skills. Only two players in the league have won more titles per game this season than Bremer. In addition to that, he scored two goals.
Anguiza (Naples)
Anguissa was one of the surprises of the season, not only in Italy but throughout Europe. Those who have watched cameroons play at Fulham will not believe the midfielder is capable of becoming a top player. However, this is exactly how Anguiza has performed since he came to Napoli on loan this season and are happy that Serie A clubs have the right to buy out. The 26-year-old has been a core force in Napoli, providing a powerful force to Fabian Ruiz's brain. Before Anguissa was unfortunately injured, Napoli soared to the top of the table in the first few months of the season.
Kupmenas (Atlanta)
Kupmenas' agent, Bart Baving, recommended his clients to every of Italy's top clubs this summer, but was flatly rejected by Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan, while Roma were unable to strike a deal. Kupmenas then joined Atalanta, where he has become one of the most impressive midfielders in the league after an early run-in period. He has a sharp left foot and is the leader on the court, perfectly in line with Atalanta's high pressing style. The 23-year-old also has a lot of room for improvement.
