After the outbreak of the San Francisco Rebellion, Wu Sangui led the rebels to quickly occupy Guizhou, Sichuan and other places, and confronted the Qing army in Hunan. Later, although the Qing army won victories in Shaanxi, Guangdong, Fujian and other places, it was still unable to gain an advantage on the battlefield of Hunan. At this critical moment, a general from Wu Sangui's camp submitted to the Qing Dynasty, directly changing the situation on the battlefield in Hunan, and even reversing the situation of the San Francisco Rebellion! So who is this overlooked star?
This person's name is Lin Xingzhu, and he is a native of Yongchun, Fujian. In November 1646, Lin Xingzhu followed his father in response to Zheng Chenggong's call, "gathered thousands of people", rebelled against the Qing Dynasty, and became a subordinate of Zheng Chenggong. In 1656, Lin Xingzhu fought fiercely with the Qing army for more than seventy days, and had to surrender to the Qing because he was outnumbered. Initially, Lin Xingzhu was made the commander-in-chief of Funing by the Qing Dynasty, but was later demoted and transferred to the post of deputy general of Chenzhou, but during his tenure he "repeatedly made great achievements".

In February 1674, Wu Sangui's rebels invaded Hunan, and the isolated Lin Xingzhu chose Kaesong to surrender. Wu Sangui already knew Lin Xingzhu's ability, so he led the water division to guard the "Yuezhou Dongting Fortresses". After that, the Qing army and Wu Sangui's rebels launched a five-year tug-of-war in Yuezhou, and the Qing army was repeatedly defeated and could not occupy Yuezhou, which can be said to be the key to quelling the rebellion in San Francisco!
In 1678, the Qing general Han Shiqi sent someone to persuade Lin Xingzhu to surrender, and he immediately sent someone to contact Yue Le, the Prince of An, after which Lin Xingzhu led his troops to surrender to the Qing Dynasty. The Kangxi Emperor was very happy to receive the report, praised Lin Xingzhu for his "devotion to righteousness, and deeply commendable", and then ordered Lin Xingzhu to be made a general of Jianyi and given the marquis. Lin Xingzhu was well aware of the situation in Wu Sangui and Yuezhou, and after his surrender, he suggested that the Qing army cut off the grain route of Yuezhou City and pointed out the key places.
At the beginning of 1679, Lin Xingzhu again offered a strange strategy, which was adopted by the Qing army commander, and the city of Yuezhou was completely isolated and helpless, and the defender Wu Yinglin was forced to lead the remnants of the army to abandon Yuezhou. After that, the Qing army launched a fierce offensive, quickly recapturing Hunan and Guizhou, and marching into Yunnan. In 1681, the Qing army occupied Kunming, and the San Francisco Rebellion ended completely. It can be said that the Battle of Yuezhou was the key to quelling the rebellion in San Francisco, and Lin Xingzhu was the key to the Battle of Yuezhou!
In 1680, Lin Xingzhu came to Beijing, and the Kangxi Emperor incorporated him into the Han army with a yellow flag and gave him a new task. It turned out that the northeast region at this time was invaded by the Russian invaders. The Kangxi Emperor knew that Lin Xingzhu was familiar with water warfare, so he asked him to train sailors, and then sent him to lead an army to the northeast to fight against Tsarist Russia. Before the expedition, the Kangxi Emperor was very worried about the firearms of Tsarist Russia and asked Lin Xingzhu about the defense method.
In this regard, Lin Xingzhu said, "There are roll cards, and the courtiers have their instruments", so the Kangxi Emperor ordered Lin Xingzhu to demonstrate on the spot. Don't look at Lin Xingzhu is already old, but he is physically agile, "dance with a rattan card, and open up Yi Wanfu." Jump eight feet forward and one foot back, invincible." The Kangxi Emperor also found "a few good shooters and shot them with hailstorms", and the result was that "several shots could not be hit". According to the record, "Yabu has rolled in front of him, and he is faster than a bird."
After that, the Kangxi Emperor asked Lin Xingzhu to form a rattan soldier and then rushed to the front. In the Battle of Yaksa, Lin Xingzhu's troops performed well, not only bravely fighting, but also not a single one was killed. When the Kangxi Emperor summoned Lin Xingzhu, he said: "Lin Hou's merits are unprecedented in history! Later, Lin Xingzhu led the Fujian Rattan soldiers to participate in the Battle of UlanButong and defeated Kaldan. In 1693, lin xingzhu, a famous general who was ignored by later generations, fell ill and died.
