Zhao Wen, director of the Municipal Sports Bureau, said in a work report through video link at the main venue that next year the city's sports system will continue to comprehensively promote the high-quality development of ice and snow sports, mass sports, competitive sports, sports and education integration, sports industry, etc., serve the successful holding of the Winter Olympic Games, and greet the victory of the party's 20th National Congress with excellent results.
In 2021, the capital's sports industry has achieved comprehensive development. 37 ice and snow athletes were selected into the national training team, won the first place 10 times in various events, the men's and women's ice hockey teams both won the national championship championship, the number of standard ice surfaces of more than 1800 square meters in the city reached 49 pieces, exceeding the 2022 target; 367 sports and fitness activity venues were built, more than 2,000 online and offline municipal and above events were organized, and the number of direct participants reached 2 million; and the Tokyo Olympic Games won 4 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze. The national contribution rate continues to maintain the forefront of the country, winning 21 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze at the Shaanxi National Games, and the BAIC men's volleyball team has won the championship again in the professional league; successfully held important events such as the Beijing International Long-distance Running Festival - Beijing Half Marathon, the International Regatta, and accelerated the construction of venues, event organization, reception and accommodation in the Beijing division of the Asian Cup, which was fully affirmed by the AFC delegation.

2022 is the year of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and it has become the top priority of the city's sports work next year to do a good job in preparing for the Winter Olympics and striving to achieve a double harvest of participation in the games. The city will implement "one person, one case" for key athletes, give all-round protection, and continue to do a good job in the service guarantee of the national training team stationed in the training base; carefully hold the eighth citizens' happy ice and snow season series of events, widely organize ice and snow public welfare experience classes, continue to plan and broadcast special programs, strengthen ice and snow knowledge, viewing etiquette and other publicity; carry out in-depth campus ice and snow sports, prepare for the second municipal winter games, and improve the U series of youth winter projects; actively plan to promote the development of ice and snow sports in the post-Winter Olympic era.
