In October 2020, Jonathan Simmons began his mid-career basketball journey and joined the Liaoning men's basketball team. In 16 regular-season games for Liaoning, Jonathan Simmons averaged 12 minutes per game, averaging 9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
