BYD said that this is the first time that the Manila Electric Company (hereinafter referred to as Meralco) in the Philippines has purchased a pure electric passenger car as a company car, and it is also the first time in the history of the Philippines to publicly bid for pure electric vehicle models.

At present, the Philippines is promoting the "comprehensive development route for electric vehicles" planning, and proposes that public parking must be equipped with a 5% charging pile ratio, and within the specified time frame, 5% of the government and corporate fleets need to be composed of electric vehicles.

According to reports, BYD officially entered the Philippine passenger car market in 2013. At present, BYD's market share of new energy passenger cars in the Philippines has exceeded 80%, and the Philippines ranks first in the market share.
