Google will likely fire employees who don't get vaccinated in time

According to an internal document, Google has informed its employees that if they do not comply with the company's COVID-19 vaccination regulations, they will lose their wages and may eventually be fired. Documents obtained by CNBC show that employees who have not complied with vaccination rules by the Jan. 18 deadline will be placed on "paid leave" for 30 days. After that, the company will give them "unpaid personal leave" for a maximum period of 6 months, followed by dismissal.

Previously, Google asked the company's more than 150,000 employees to upload vaccinations to internal systems by December 3. The company will then start contacting employees who have not uploaded or not been vaccinated, as well as those whose exemption applications have not been approved. The Biden administration has ordered U.S. companies with 100 or more employees to ensure that their employees are fully vaccinated or regularly tested by Jan. 18. Google said almost all of Google's role in the U.S. would fall within the scope of the executive order, and frequent testing is not an effective alternative to vaccination.
