According to India's business focus is mainly to promote India's local electric vehicle manufacturing to compete with China, so the attitude towards foreign manufacturers has been erratic for a long time. The current policy in India is that if the insurance and freight (CIF) exceeds $40,000, the import tariff on electric vehicles in India is 100%, and if the CIF is worth less than $40,000, it is 60%. And this has become a constant tug-of-war between India and Tesla.
