At the beginning of December, in a sculpture studio in Jiangdong East Village, Meilan District, Haikou City, a number of experts in aesthetics, calligraphy, history and Su studies gathered to make a final comment on a large-scale sculpture art work that had just appeared. This is the first full-body statue of equal proportions that truly reflects the relationship between Su Dongpo and Qiongzhou student Jiang Tangzuo, and has now entered the stage of casting copper.

Mr. Dongpo belittled Hainan and lived in Dan for three years, and Jiang Tangzuo went to Danzhou to study in Dongpo for half a year. In March of the third year of Yuan Fu (1100), Jiang Tangzuo finished his studies and would return to Qiongzhou to prepare for the exam in Guangzhou. Su Dongpo wrote a poem with an inscription: "The vicissitudes of the sea have broken the vein of the earth, and the white robe has broken the heavens." And promised Jiang Tangzuo to become famous and continue to complete the poem for him. Later, Jiang Tangzuo lived up to the teacher's expectations, but Dongpo had finished his life in Changzhou, and Su Rui completed the whole poem for Tang Zuo on behalf of his brother, leaving an inspirational story for the academic community.
In connection with doing practical things for the grass-roots level, the Hainan Provincial Su Studies Research Association has visited Qiongshan, Chengmai, Danzhou and other places many times, consulted a large number of historical documents and family genealogies of many provinces and regions, and held special meetings to verify that Jiang Tangzuo's father was "naturalized in Qiongzhou" from Fujian and settled in Guoshe Village, an old town in present-day Chengmai County. Jiang Tangzuo's uncle Jiang Yuanxi, the 26th grandson, and Mr. Jiang Weimin of Guoshe Village, initiated that the Hainan Su Studies Research Association organize many field visits by experts and scholars, planned by Li Gongyu, deputy secretary general of the China Su Shi Research Society and chairman of the Hainan Su Studies Research Association, to prepare for the creation of the "Dongpo Tangzuo Memorial Garden", including the design and production of a large bronze statue of Su Dongpo and Jiang Tangzuo.
Xia Xiangchen, a young sculptor in Hainan and chairman of Hainan Shanyuan Public Art Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhang Rui, secretary general of the Hainan Sculpture Art Society and associate professor of the School of Humanities and Communication of Hainan University, who has rich experience in visual communication design, advertising creativity, painting, etc., has repeatedly visited the historical and cultural sites of Jiang Tangzuo in Chengmai County, consulted a large number of documents and historical materials, carefully studied and designed the character images of Dongpo and Tangzuo, and repeatedly revised the drawings, small samples were made and polished, and the body clay sculptures were modified many times. The final clay sculpture of the statue is equal in height to the real person. After October, relevant experts and scholars have been invited to comment on the spot and put forward suggestions for amendments.
