In order to deeply remember Teacher Chen Xiaofeng and facilitate the majority of opera fans to mourn, on December 11, the provincial and municipal Cantonese opera circles held a "Memorial Meeting for a Generation of Cantonese Opera Masters Chen Xiaofeng" at the Guangzhou RedLine Women's Art Center. The memorial service was sponsored by the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Promotion Association, the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Wind Cavity Art Research Association, and the Guangzhou Culture and Art Development Center.

Chen Xiaofeng died in Guangzhou at 23:19 on November 29, 2021 due to illness at the age of 98. He is the winner of the "Guangdong Literature and Art Lifetime Achievement Award", the former deputy head and artistic director of the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe, the founder of the Cantonese opera singing art genre "Wind Cavity", and the eternal honorary consultant of the Cantonese Opera Wind Cavity Art Research Association. Chen Xiaofeng is well-known in the art world, and his roles such as Liang Shanbo, Zheng Yuanhe, Jia Baoyu, Yuan Weizhi, etc., such as "Shanbo's Dying", "Zhu Benhui Dynasty", "Jinjiang Poets", "Baoyu Crying Qingwen", "Hu Er Selling Boy", "Shuangqiao Smoke and Rain" and other "wind cavity" famous songs, are deeply loved by the audience and widely disseminated at home and abroad.

At the memorial service, Chen Xiaofeng's apprentice and president of the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Wind Cavity Art Research Association, Chen Lingyu recalled Chen Xiaofeng, "Learning to play first learns to be a person, and there is no virtue to stand on your own." Chen Xiaofeng's apprentice Lin Jiabao recalled that Chen Xiaofeng was a fatherly master, "Although Master created the wind cavity, he did not let us stick to the door school, he taught us to accept the essence of other sects more, serve our wind cavity, and strengthen our wind cavity." ”

Ding Fan, Ni Huiying, Ou Kaiming, Zeng Xiaomin and other provincial and municipal Cantonese opera masters also recalled the bits and pieces with Chen Xiaofeng.

On December 9, at the farewell party of Chen Xiaofeng at the World Hung Hom Funeral Home, 74-year-old apprentice Zheng Shaoqiu also appeared. At the end of 1979, Zheng Shaoqiu raised funds for the Hong Kong Tung Wah Hospital, and sang Chen Xiaofeng's famous song "Shanbo Dying" on the spot, it was because of this singing that he and Chen Xiaofeng were able to meet smoothly, and the following year, Zheng Shaoqiu became Chen Xiaofeng's eldest disciple under the witness of his relatives and friends.
