Background information: Residential fires
Causes a fire. In the kitchen, living room, bedroom, storage room, etc., due to the use of electricity, gas and other reasons, it is possible to cause a fire; the stairwell may cause a fire due to parking battery cars, motorcycles or piled debris; the basement storage of chemicals, electricity may cause a fire; the housing balcony has combustible materials, which can cause fires due to flying fires (fireworks, etc.).
Fireworks expand. When there is a fire in the home, there are more combustibles, the fire is fierce, the temperature is high; after the fire, it will spread through the door, window or even the outer wall, and the smoke will enter the stairwell through the door; the time for the fire to expand is about 15 minutes or less, and the flue gas will spread in about 3-5 minutes.
Dangerous features. Smoke is the biggest danger, high temperature, toxicity, after filling the stairs will not be able to escape; after the bottom floor fire, the smoke rises, the top floor residents are extremely dangerous, may be carbon monoxide poisoning; after the bottom fire, the entire building is the most dangerous, easy to spread upwards through stairs, windows, and external walls.
Fire hazards. According to the statistics of the fire department, in the annual national fire, the number of residential fires accounts for about 40%, and the proportion of fire deaths is about 80%. Both the number of people and the dead account for a large proportion of the total number of fires. What stands out here is that the fire occurs at night, and the death of people is indoors or in the stairwell.
Preparedness and fire emergency preparedness. The sources of fire in the home are mainly electrical circuits, electrical products (including lithium battery products), gas, and open flames. These aspects should be managed as well as possible to avoid fire; at the same time, it is necessary to install fire alarms, find fires in time, properly configure fire extinguishers, and extinguish fires when they have the ability.
Precautions in fire emergency:
(1) After the fire is found, the most important problem is to report the fire alarm. Reporting to family members is first and foremost, and when capable, report to others and 119.
(2) It is extremely important to prevent smoke inhalation. The method is to lower the posture, cover the mouth, and reduce breathing. When a fire breaks out in a non-home household, it is not possible to go out to avoid the risk of smoke in the stairwell.
(3) Jumping off buildings above three floors is not recommended. As a last resort, you should make as much preparation as possible when jumping.
(4) If there is a fire in your own house, you must run immediately if you can run. Early in the day of discovery, evacuate all your family members to the door and then say, don't just stare at the fire and forget your family. Of course, if the fire is small, you can close all the doors of the house under the premise of preparing for evacuation. When evacuating the door, close the door (you can take the key), which is mainly to prevent smoke from entering the stairwell through the door, resulting in casualties to others.
(5) Special affairs should be handled specially. If the external wall is a flammable insulation material, or the home is with central air conditioning, that is to say, fire or smoke can be burned in through the window and sneaked in from the air conditioner outlet, then it is necessary to pay close attention, analyze and judge, and make up your mind in time to see whether to run or stay in the house.
(6) Use a rope or a rappel with caution. Because, this is relatively difficult. It depends on your physical strength, psychological quality and training, at the same time, it is also necessary to see if the outer wall is burning, and to prevent falling objects from hitting you. As for the sheets, let's try not to think about it.
