There is also Braille on the desktop, which is convenient for visually impaired people to "read" and "listen" to books in the area.
The 70-year-old Master Jin has long been visually disabled, unable to see close objects, and his hobby of playing chess has become a luxury. Since the newly created blind bookstore in the community is equipped with blind chess, Master Jin has been very happy and praised one after another.
Chess for the blind does not look different from ordinary chess, and during the game the blind only need to touch the Braille mark on the chess with their hands to play chess.
"I made a lot of like-minded friends here, and the entertainment life was enriched a lot at once." Master Jin said.
In the blind bookstore in the North Park community, barrier-free reading seats and Braille in the corners of the table are also set up to facilitate visually impaired people to distinguish their seats. There are also two newly purchased blind listening machines on the table, and Master Jin "listens" to e-books for the first time with the help of the staff, and can also adjust the speed, volume and type of books through the keys.
Next to the barrier-free reading seats, blind books such as "Fundamentals of Massage", "Internal Medicine Massage", and "The Power of Reading" are also specially placed in a column, and there is a Braille logo at the bookshelf to facilitate blind people to find.
"This is a comprehensive bookstore that can meet the needs of different levels of community residents, and the establishment of the blind bookstore here is also to allow our disabled people to integrate into it and make their cultural and recreational life more abundant." Zhao Fei, secretary of the Party Committee of The North Park Community in Changguo Street, introduced that the book house has set up an adult reading area and a children's reading area, and although the book house is small, it is fully functional.
At present, there is a single type of books for the blind, and after that, the variety of books and entertainment facilities for the blind will be continuously increased to further enrich their spiritual and cultural life and improve the quality of life.
