NVIDIA MX550 Notebook Graphics Card Exposure: Amp Architecture

NVIDIA MX series graphics card is quite a strange existence, said to be a standalone graphics card but the specifications are very low, usually used for high-performance thin and light, by many people jokingly called "bright card", but these generations of MX series upgrade is quite large, each time there is a new architecture, core scale, video memory specifications have also made significant progress every time.

The MX350 is also a Pascal architecture GP107 core with 768 stream processors.

The MX450 was upgraded to a Turing-architecture TU117 core, 896 stream processors, and was NVIDIA's first graphics card to support PCIe 4.0 (to match the 11th generation Core notebook), and for the first time, GDDR6 video memory was optional.

NVIDIA MX550 Notebook Graphics Card Exposure: Amp Architecture

An unnamed new NVIDIA card recently appeared in the GeekBench 5 database, most likely the new generation of GeForce MX550.

The detection information shows that it has 16 computing units, and under the ampere architecture is 2048 stream processors, more than double the previous generation, catching up with the RTX 3050, which should also be the GA107 core.

The 2GB GDDR5 is the first product of the Ampere family to have 2GB of video memory. I just don't know if the bit width continues to be 64-bit, or if it can be opened to 128-bit this time.
