Arrive and reach can both mean "arriving", what is the difference between them? How should they be used?

A. Arrive
to come to a place after traveling
Arriving at a place, arrive is one of the words we use the most, and its versatility is also relatively high.
arrive is an "intransitive verb" which means that it cannot be followed directly by the place, but needs to be connected with the preposition at/in.

When a local point is just a small location, for example: home, cinema, station, etc., we use the preposition at to form arrive at.

2.arrive in
When a local point is a large location, for example: country, city, island, etc., we use the preposition in to form arrive in.
We were driving all night and we arrived in Texas at 9.30am.
We drove all night and arrived in Texas at 9:30 a.m.
We arrived in Prague later that day.
Later that day, we arrived in the Czech Republic.

Inside Arrive, there is no arrive to this usage! Repeat more than once, and there is no arrive to this usage.
Why do you say polysemantics, because this error is arguably the most common mistake in the daily use of English. Not only English learners will make this mistake, but many times even native English speakers will make this mistake, such as watching the news, they will see this mistake:

to arrive at a place, especially after spending a long time or a lot of effort travelling
The same expression reaches a place, and the reach expression takes a certain amount of effort, time, or effort to reach
Since it is a transitive verb, loop can be directly followed by the noun place
