1. Background
In November 1927, the First Division and One Regiment of the First Army of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, a cadet of the Whampoa Military Academy and who had participated in the Northern Expedition, first established the first officer teaching team of our army at the Longjiang Academy in Ninggang County, which was the initial prototype of the military cadre school of our army. All squad leaders of our army have to go through the training of the teaching team to this day!
In April 1928, Zhu Maohui formed the Fourth Army of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army in Jinggangshan, and the teaching team was also established, and in March of the following year, the initial cadre school was established in Ciping, and the training of military cadres of our army entered the embryonic stage!
2. Initial construction
After winning the victory in the three anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaigns in September 1931, our army felt more and more the lack of grass-roots military cadres, and although the Kuomintang troops were defeated, their operational ideology, combat methods, and the quality and ability of the troops at that time still attracted the attention of our army's command level.
In Ningdu, the chairman first sought out He Changgong, commander of the Eighth Army, and Deng Ping, commander of the Fifth Army, and decided to take the two of them as the center, and at the same time draw a group of cadres from the main force and set up a training school for military cadres, the purpose of which is to maintain sufficient reserves of military cadres and ensure the timely delivery of red commanders with first-class military and political quality to the troops!
The chairman pointed out that the people's army must not only be able to fight wars, but also learn to run schools, and in order to defeat the reactionaries, we must be able to train our own military cadres! Since during the Northern Expedition, there was a "Whampoa" military academy, then our Red Army created a "Red Pu" military academy!
Third, grow
On November 25, 1931, the "Hongpu" Military Academy was officially named the Central Military and Political School, and the next year it was renamed the National Workers' and Peasants' Red Army School, and until the middle of August 1933, a total of six training courses were held, with a maximum of 1,000 students in each period!
During the anti-encirclement and suppression operations, in order to meet the needs of the war, the Soviet zone carried out the work of "expanding the red", at this time the construction of the Red Army entered a very prosperous period, and the demand for military cadres in various units began to increase.
The Central Military Commission decided to divide the "Hongpu" Military Academy into five branches according to the types of arms and technologies, namely, the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army University, the First and Second Infantry Schools of the Red Army, the Red Army Special Branch Training School, and the Guerrilla Cadre Training School! According to the needs of the task, a senior command class, a senior political class, a staff class, etc. will be set up. 3. Breeding generals
