Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

author:Fushang

In the chapter "Three Kingdoms of Fu Shangpin: 26 Dong Zhuo Enters Beijing", I refuted the traditional historical record that Dong Zhuo sent his subordinates to let his soldiers sneak out of the city at night, and then entered the city with great fanfare the next day, and the soldiers and civilians of Luoyang City thought that many of Dong Zhuo's Liangzhou soldiers shocked the military and civilians of Luoyang City, which was a story made up by historians.

Then why did He Jin and He Miao's subordinates choose to defect to Dong Zhuo, and why did Lü Bu, a close subordinate of Jin Wu Dingyuan's "Great Seeing and Treating", choose to kill Ding Yuan and defect to Dong Zhuo?

I had a bold speculation that Dong Zhuo had retaken the army handed over to Emperor Fusong at the behest of Emperor Hanling.

If Dong Zhuo only relied on the five thousand elite soldiers he had brought to the post of Hezhou, it would be really difficult for people to believe that he was "looking for" time, and he would attract the support of He Jin, He Miao's old department, Lü Bu, Zhang Liao, and other hezhou departments, and become the "first brother" of Luoyang City. Dong Zhuo controlled luoyang city with only 5,000 elite soldiers from Liangzhou, which really seemed to be telling an Arabic story? However, if Dong Zhuo had at least 20,000 Liangzhou elite soldiers as capital, it would not be much easier for Dong Zhuo to attract He Jin, He Miao's old department and the xiangzhou department.

I wrote in the previous chapter, "Three Kingdoms of Fu Shang pin: 27 How did the warlord Dong Zhuo cultivate?" It was written: In the Battle of Chen Cang in the fifth year of Zhongping (188), Dong Zhuo and Emperor Fusong each brought 20,000 people to help, and the Battle of Chen Cang was a victorious battle, and there was no loss in strength, considering that there was a military demand for some troops to garrison the Right Fufeng, Dong Zhuo's army had at least more than 20,000 people. Dong Zhuo took office and Zhou Mu only took 5,000 elite soldiers from it, and handed over the remaining army to Emperor Fusong to command.

If there were only five thousand elite soldiers, Dong Zhuo's strength was not much stronger than that of the "Hezhou Gang", so why would the He Brothers and the Hezhou Legion go to Dong Zhuo? Why did Dong Zhuo attract their surrender, did he really have the spirit of the legendary king?

How did Dong Zhuo get the 20,000 back? I think it is very likely that the Han Ling Emperor died. The empire changed its servants, and Dong Zhuo sent his younger brother Dong Min in Luoyang to open the way with money, and through eunuchs, persuaded Empress He of the Dynasty to have Empress He issue an edict to return the Song army that emperor had originally handed over to the emperor to Dong Zhuo.

The fathers-in-law and emperor Fu Song were political enemies, although the time when the fathers and fathers had passed in the empire said one thing and the same, there was no courage to put Emperor Fu Song, a famous general in the world, to death, but there was still the courage to add to the blockage of Emperor Fu Song.

In the first year of Zhongping (184), the Yellow Turban Rebellion broke out, and Emperor Fusong took the opportunity to suggest that Emperor Hanling dissolve the "party hammer" and had already offended the eunuch clique; when he was pacifying the Yellow Turban in Jizhou, Emperor Fusong saw that the house of Zhao Zhong's family, a great eunuch in Yicheng, was beyond the official regulations stipulated by the imperial court, and wrote to the emperor to impeach Zhao Zhong's mansion for "over-regulation".

Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

Since Huang Fusong chose to be enemies with his father-in-law, the father-in-law naturally would not let go of the opportunity to retaliate against Emperor Fusong. In the second year of Zhongping (185), the eunuchs Zhang Rang and Zhao Zhong persuaded Emperor Hanling to transfer Emperor Fusong away from the northwest battlefield on the grounds that emperor Fusong had been ordered to pacify the rebels in Liangzhou for several months and had spent money and grain on the grounds that emperor Fusong had been in a bad position for several months and had spent money and grain on the imperial court, and was punished by degrading officials and knights, and Emperor Fusong was idle for several years before being reinstated because of the war in Kansai and the need to restrain Dong Zhuo.

The planned expulsion of the eunuch clique through a coup d'état in the Ling Emperor dynasty can be said to be an open secret inside and outside the government and the public. In the extraordinary period after the death of emperor Han Ling, the eunuch clique, which felt the threat of life and death, had enough motivation to try to weaken the military power in the hands of the political enemy Huang Fusong and prevent Emperor Fusong from controlling too much military power.

The eunuch Zhang Rang, who was deeply trusted by Empress He who was in power in linchao, was very likely to exert influence on Empress He, stir up dissension, and deepen Empress He's jealousy of Emperor Fusong, "Empress Dowager, today thieves have sprung up, the former emperor has abandoned the world, the emperor is a famous general of the state, he has made many meritorious achievements, he has won the hearts of the army, and he is from the Liangzhou clan, and his prestige in Kansai is very high, and now he has a heavy army in Guanzhong, and Guanzhong is the emperor's residence Emperor Gaozu thus becoming an emperor, and once the emperor has different intentions, the imperial court is in danger, it is better to divide his military power as the top". Empress Dowager He became suspicious of Emperor Fusong and ordered Emperor Fusong to return the army that Dong Zhuo had handed over to him to Dong Zhuo, who remained in Hedong.

For Empress He, appropriately weakening the military power in the hands of Emperor Fusong and letting Dong Zhuo and Emperor Fusong, two famous generals of Liangzhou, restrain each other is a common monarch balance technique, which is not a big deal, and no one thinks that Dong Zhuo, who has 20,000 or 30,000 troops, will set off much of a wave.

Perhaps some readers will wonder why Emperor Fusong would accept the holy will of the imperial court so easily and hand over the army back to Dong Zhuo.

This is the difference between Emperor Fusong and Dong Zhuo, the two famous generals of Liangzhou, who are the worldly, compared to Dong Zhuo, who is ambitious and wants to reach the peak of power, Huangfu Song is willing to be a loyal subject who follows the rules.

We all know that Dong Zhuo's subsequent act of deposing the emperor caused Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu, and other Kwantung princes to form a coalition of Xingyi soldiers to fight, but the vast majority of people did not know that Jingzhao Yin Gaixun, who was guarding Chang'an at that time, had suggested that the "Kansai Coalition Army" and the Emperor Fusong, who was sitting on the right side of the wind, form a "Kansai Coalition Army" against Dong Zhuo, and cooperate with the "Kwantung Coalition Army" to attack Dong Zhuo from east to west and destroy Dong Zhuo's party. Gai Xun had an army of 10,000 men in his hands [Note 1], according to historical records, Emperor Fusong was carrying another 30,000 people to guard the right wind [Note 2], and if Emperor Fusong promised Gai Xun, the possibility of success in attacking Dong Zhuo was really great, and Emperor Fusong even had the possibility of unifying the world and winning the throne. However, Emperor Fusong rejected Gai Xun's promising proposal and chose to accept the imperial court under Dong Zhuo's control to recruit him to join the court as a lieutenant of the city gate and surrender his military power, and Emperor Fusong may not dare to believe that Dong Zhuo handed over military power so easily. Therefore, Empress He really ordered to take away Emperor Fusong's military power, and with Emperor Fusong's character, she would not think of resisting the will in the open and in the dark, but would only accept it.

Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

Emperor Fusong was a really wise man, he knew that the position of emperor was not easy to sit in, he was content, he was satisfied with his current status, and chose to stay in the world and history books as a loyal servant of the Han Dynasty with high moral integrity, instead of taking his life's hard-earned fame and the head of the whole family to gamble on an unpredictable throne, Huang Fusong finally died safely as a loyal and respected Han courtier.

If He Jin was still alive, the Luoyang government could still easily suppress Dong Zhuo, who was only 20,000 or 30,000 people, and it was impossible for Dong Zhuo to take advantage of the opportunity to bring the army into Luoyang City, He Jin was very wary of Dong Zhuo entering Luoyang, and twice sent people to prevent Dong Zhuo from entering Luoyang. And Dong Zhuo was not so bold and dared to lead an army to attack Luoyang City.

As the capital of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Luoyang's human, material and financial resources that can be mobilized are amazing, and the city walls are certainly tall and strong. In the era of cold weapons, it was easier for the defending side than the siege side, and the besieging side often had to pay a heavy price to capture a city, and dong Zhuo's more than 20,000 people could not attack the fortified city of Luoyang in a short period of time.

What is more serious is that in politics, as long as Dong Zhuo dares to attack Luoyang with an army, Dong Zhuo will be characterized by the people of the world as a chaotic courtier and a thief, and everyone will be cursed, just as Dong Zhuo became a chaotic thief because of the abolition of the emperor in history, and his death will only be faster and more tragic than in the original history.

Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

But now Luoyang is in chaos. He Jin, He Miao, and the eunuch clique were wiped out in a noisy coup d'état, the little emperor fled from Luoyang City in a hurry, and Dong Zhuo took the opportunity to lead an army into Luoyang City in the name of saving the driver. When the scholars tried to prevent Dong Zhuo's army from entering Luoyang City together by order of the emperor, Dong Zhuo retorted with a straight face, "The public ministers cannot correct the royal family, so that the country is spreading, but there are many soldiers!" ”

Dong Zhuo Shangluo's initial purpose was only to make a considerable political profit. But now, Luoyang City was in chaos, and the ambitious Dong Zhuo was naturally more reluctant to leave Luoyang, and Dong Zhuo, who had more than 20,000 elite soldiers, was enough to become a pivotal big man in Luoyang City, so Dong Zhuo also transferred the army that remained in Hedong to Luoyang after entering Beijing.

Dong Zhuo had already established sufficient authority under his command when he was stationed on the right Fufeng, and the troops had long since become "Dong Jiajun", and he Dong Zhuo was willing to accompany the emperor and the imperial court to support his subordinates, which was also the basis for Dong Zhuo to dare to bargain with emperor Han Ling and dare to ignore the pressure of the forces of the scholars.

Why is Dong Zhuo, who has more than 20,000 elite soldiers in his hands, enough to become a pivotal big man in Luoyang City? Here I briefly introduce the composition of the central army of the Eastern Han Empire:

GuangLuxun commanded the forbidden army of the palace and was responsible for guarding the safety of the palace, and under him were the commanders of the Tiger Ben Zhonglang General and The Yulin Zhonglang General. Cai Qian's "Han Yi" records that Hu Ben Zhonglang will be "the main tiger Ben 1,500 people, impermanent, up to a thousand people"; Ying Shao "Han Guanyi" "Yulin left supervisor Yulin 800 people, right supervisor 900 people", above, Guang Luxun commanded about 1000-1500 people Tiger Ben, Yulin 1828 people, about 3000 people.

Wei Wei was responsible for commanding the guards to defend the palace gates, and according to the "Book of Later Han and Hundred Officials Zhi IV" by Emperor Gaozong of Tang and Wu Zetian's second son Li Xian, the wei lieutenant commanded about 2,800 officers and soldiers.

The Northern Army has five battalions under the Tun Horse, Yue Horse, Infantry, Changshui, and Shooting Sound, and the Northern Army is the main combat force of the Beijing Army in wartime, and Li Xianzhu's "Book of the Later Han Dynasty and Hundred Officials Zhi IV" has a total of more than 4,000 officers and men of the Northern Army. Considering that the Eastern Han Empire was in the midst of a military struggle of internal and external turmoil at that time, it is also unknown how many soldiers of the Northern Army, which was responsible for the task of going out to fight, remained in Luoyang.

The city gate lieutenant, as the name suggests, is the general manager of the Luoyang city gate (there are twelve Luoyang city gates, except for the pingcheng gate at the south gate of the city, which is managed by one of the nine secretaries, the other eleven city gates are all managed by the city gate school lieutenant), according to the Song and Yuan Dynasty historian Ma Duanlin's "Literature Tongkao Bing Kao II" speculated: "However, the number of soldiers in the city gate is not examined, and the number of soldiers under the sima of the palace gate is pushed, the number of people is seven hundred and two, the less is more than thirty, and the ten gates stop at one school, which must not be where the heavy troops are, but more than three thousand ears", that is, the maximum number of 3,000 subordinates of the city gate lieutenant is 3,000 , the probability is less than 3,000 people.

Zhi Jinwu was responsible for the inspection outside the imperial palace and inside Luoyang, and the Han Guan records that "there were 200 people riding on jinwu ti and 520 people holding halberds", with a total of 720 guards.

The Book of Later Han records that the "Five Divisions of the Great General's Battalion" were organized according to the Eastern Han military system, and the army was organized according to the "Department-Qu-Tun-Team-Shi-Wu": five people were one, with a commander; ten people and one shi, set up a shi commander; five shi was a team, set up a team rate; the second team was a total of one hundred people, set up a tun general; five tun was a song, a total of five hundred people, set up a military waiting; two qu was one, a total of one thousand people, set up a thousand people governor (or a tooth general, or another sima ). The General Battalion has five parts, which means that there are 5,000 people in the He Jin Division.

(The data listed by the author above are all from the Book of the Later Han Dynasty, and the number of the above central army is likely to be the number of the Eastern Han Dynasty before the Yellow Turban Rebellion, which does not mean that the military system of the Eastern Han Dynasty will continue to remain unchanged after the Yellow Turban Rebellion.) It should be noted that the official system and military system of any dynasty will be adjusted according to the needs of different periods of history. )

In August of the fifth year of Zhongping (188), the Han Ling Emperor added the Xiyuan Army in order to strengthen the military strength of the central government, and the number of the Xiyuan Army is unknown, according to the setting of the eight lieutenants of the Xiyuan, there are 8,000 people.

According to the "Book of The Later Han Dynasty And Hundred Officials Chronicle IV", the subordinate officers of the Lieutenant Colonel of the Division have Bing Cao engaged in a post, "if they have a military, they will be engaged in military affairs, and the main military affairs" can be seen that the Lieutenant colonel of the Division has military power, and although the Lieutenant Colonel is not a permanent official, it is only the Lieutenant colonel who can form a military cao and mobilize the army when there is a military need, and it can be known that the lieutenant colonel has an unknown number of military armed forces in his hands. The post of Lieutenant colonel was first established in the fourth year of Emperor Zhenghe of the Han Dynasty (89 BC), and commanded 1200 zhongdu officials and apprentices, but by the time of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the lieutenant colonel of the division was still in charge of 1200 people.

The Che general He Miao also had an army under him, and the history books clearly record that he led his troops to participate in the murder of Zhao Zhong and other eunuchs. The Book of Later Han and the Chronicle of empress dowagers records that the nephew of Empress Dowager Dong, the nephew of Empress Dowager Dong, the mother of Emperor Ling of Han, led more than a thousand troops, and it is speculated that the general He Miao buqu of the che was not less than a thousand, and whether more than a thousand of his subordinates belonged to He Jin's command or He Miao's command after Dong Chong's defeat And the lack of historical materials.

In addition to the central army that already existed in Luoyang City, before and after Dong Zhuo entered Beijing, there were also several foreign troops who were recruited into Beijing by He Jin together with Dong Zhuo.

It is known that there were thousands of soldiers from the Hezhou Army brought by Wu Mengdu Wei Ding Yuan[note 3]; more than 1,000 people recruited by the riding capital Lieutenant Bao Xin back to his hometown of Taishan[Note 4]; 500 recruited by wang Kuang in Xuzhou[Note 5]; and more than 1,000 recruited by Zhang Liao in Hebei.[Note 6] The Taishou Bridge of Dong Commandery also had a thousand soldiers in Chenggao, not far east of Luoyang, [Note 7].

The above number of people is not accurate statistics, roughly added up to more than 30,000 people, even if due to the lack of historical data, the author can not fully accurately reflect the total number of "non-Dong" troops in Luoyang and outside Luoyang when Dong Zhuo entered Beijing, but the total number of "non-Dong" troops in Luoyang City adds up to more than 40,000 to 50,000, at most more than double the Dong army.

The troops led by Dong Zhuo are Liangzhou elite soldiers who have been fighting on the battlefield for a long time since childhood, and they are fierce soldiers who can "fight with one enemy against ten", and their combat effectiveness is by no means comparable to that of the Luoyang Jing Army and local troops.

Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

After Dong Zhuo entered Beijing, although the 20,000 troops he left in Hedong had not yet arrived in Luoyang, the forces in Luoyang City would definitely consider Dong Zhuo's more than 20,000 elite troops in the calculation game. Dong Zhuozi, who had at least 20,000 elite troops in his hands, was the strongest in military strength in Luoyang City, and was in a dominant position in the power game in Luoyang City.

Bao Xin understood how much dong Zhuo's entry into Luoyang was a threat to the order of Luoyang, and suggested that Yuan Shao, taking advantage of Dong Zhuo's lack of access to beijing and his unstable foothold, launch a surprise attack on Dong Zhuo's troops to solve dong Zhuo's threat, but was rejected by the cautious Yuan Shao [Note 8]. Bao Xin saw that the plan was not successful, and decisively chose to leave Luoyang, the land of right and wrong.

Dong Zhuo's three thousand elite soldiers were elite soldiers who had been fighting in the northwest for a long time, and their combat effectiveness far exceeded that of the Luoyang Jing army that had not been conquered on the battlefield, while Yuan Shao or the Yuan family's control over the Luoyang army was limited, and at that time, the power of Luoyang was mixed, and the Yuan family could only control part of the Luoyang army.

From Bao Xin's proposal to launch a surprise attack on Dong Zhuo, it can be seen that the troops controlled by the Yuan family, plus the troops that the Yuan family can win, such as Bao Xin, Cao Cao, Wang Kuang, etc., have at least an advantage in strength for the Dong army, but in the era of cold weapons, the gap in strength is not an absolute disparity, and it is difficult to say whether the superiority in strength can be transformed into a military victory with real swords and real guns. The basic reason is that Liu Yu's troops lack training and combat experience, resulting in soldiers who are not good at fighting and their combat effectiveness is not strong.

Compared with Dong Zhuo's absolute ability to "fight one enemy and ten enemies" by relying on personal charm, the three thousand elite soldiers who have experienced hundreds of battles, the Yuan family and allies control the Beijing army and the newly recruited army, the combat effectiveness and the will to fight are very problematic, the Yellow Turban Army composed of peasants may still be able to fight, and the comparison between the Liangzhou soldiers under Dong Zhuo's troops is too far, whether it is really possible to defeat the vanguard troops brought by Dong Zhuo and keep Dong Zhuo outside Luoyang City is not easy to say, Yuan Shao is at least unwilling to risk gambling.

At that time, the forces of Luoyang were mixed, Ding Yuan, Zhang Liao's gang of "Hezhou Gang", as well as the original parts of the He Jin brothers, as well as other capital troops, Qiao Mao's Dongjun soldiers, these different compositions of the army could not be controlled by the Yuan family, and a careless operation might be profited by people fishing and making wedding clothes for others in vain.

Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

Therefore, it is not unreasonable that Yuan Shao wants to slow down first. A hard-hitting fire merger is really not in the interests of the Yuan family.

The greatest advantage of the Scholar Camp was that their power was entangled and infiltrated all parts of the empire, and in a small luoyang city, it was likely that they would suffer a devastating massacre due to a huge defeat.

In fact, Yuan Shao's ideas should represent the thoughts of many people in Luoyang City, and those who hold such ideas always feel that even if Dong Jun enters Luoyang, it is not so terrible, and it is not easy to control Luoyang City. Luoyang is the capital of the empire, the powerful and important ministers and celebrities are gathered, there are status and strength, there are too many big men who dare to restrain Dong Zhuo, Dong Zhuo does not dare to come too chaotically, but the situation develops so fast and fiercely, Dong Zhuo's boldness is far beyond the imagination of this group of bureaucrats and doctors in Luoyang City.

As soon as he entered Luoyang, Dong Zhuo quickly lost his former leader, and he Jin and He Miao, who were leaderless, were surrendered.

The he brothers' parts were ordered by He Jin and He Miao, and it was He Jin and He Miao who authorized his close associates, such as Wu Kuang and Zhang Zhang, to lead the part, and now that He Jin and He Miao are dead, Wu Kuang, Zhang Zhang, and other generals continue to command He Jin, and He Miao's original parts are "not right in name and not in a smooth way." Because the he brothers' parts are obedient to the He brothers, not to Wu Kuang and Zhang Zhang, after the death of the He brothers, the parts that have lost their main heart bones may be scattered at any time, "You go back to your Huaguo Mountain, I return to my gao lao zhuang", each running forward, the position and use value of Wu Kuang and Zhang Zhang who have lost the support of the army in Luoyang City will become more and more insignificant, so Wu Kuang, Zhang Zhang, and other old generals of He Jin and He Miao must take advantage of He Jin and He Miao's new death, and their own Yu Wei in the army is still there. Under the premise of controlling the subordinates, they can quickly choose the new main belt department to surrender, and sell the capital left by the He brothers to them at a good price as soon as possible at the moment of decline, which can not only preserve the glory and wealth of the past, but also go to a higher level. Dong Zhuo is the new boss they carefully choose under the weighing of pros and cons.

Why did He Jin and He Miao's part choose Dong Zhuo?

As the author analyzed before, Among the various forces in Luoyang City, Dong Zhuo's military strength is the strongest, if Dong Zhuo does not have tens of thousands of Liangzhou elite soldiers to obey, Dong Zhuo's control of Luoyang City is telling an Arab story, and it is impossible to logically believe that the He brothers' parts and the "Hezhou Legion" will turn to Dong Zhuo, who is not strong?

In addition to Dong Zhuo, let's look at several other major forces inside and outside Luoyang.

Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

A phoenix that falls into the water is not as good as a chicken

In this round of Luoyang blood, the imperial family was swept away, the imperial palace was attacked by courtiers, the empress dowager and the emperor were held hostage by domestic slaves, the emperor canghuang escaped from Luoyang, the emperor's symbol "Chuanguo Yuxi" was lost, the foreign relatives and eunuchs who relied on him were both destroyed, etc., the imperial family really staged a live-action version of the "phoenix that fell into the water is not as good as a chicken", not to mention that He Jin's old department and the imperial family had irreconcilable contradictions, they formed a vendetta with the empress dowager and the emperor, and they attacked the imperial palace with an army, killing Empress He's brother, and the uncle riding the general He Miao, causing the emperor to escape from Luoyang If he has formed a deep vendetta with the royal family, he jin is destined to never defect to the royal family if he has a choice.

The "Fifth Dynasty and Three Dukes" of the Runan," the Yuan clan, sounded very grand, and the old Yuan family had four generations and five members of the Politburo Standing Committee in a row, and had a deep influence in the DPRK, Shilin, and the localities, and had a wide network of contacts (if it were not for Dong Zhuo's sudden intrusion into Luoyang, He Shi and He Miao were killed, and all the eunuchs were killed, the Yuan family relied on the great merits of destroying the eunuchs, and it was possible to establish a pattern of "Liu and Yuan, sharing the world" in the dprk after the palace change), but the biggest problem weakness of the Yuan family was that the "barrel of the gun" was not hard, the control over the army was limited, and the military strength was weak. The Yuan family has taken the road of promotion to civilian officials in the official arena for generations. Yuan Shao's lieutenant colonel, Yuan Shu's Tiger Ben Zhonglang general are all officials of the imperial court, the reason why Yuan Shao and Yuan Shu were able to command the lieutenant, the army under the command of The Tiger Ben Zhonglang was given by a letter of edict from the imperial court, and the same imperial court could also take away the army of the Yuan brothers with a single edict, which was completely different from the twenty thousand Liangzhou elite soldiers under Dong Zhuo's command, Dong Zhuo had established absolute authority in his own army, his troops had long been warlordized, Dong Zhuo's troops were nominally still the imperial court, in fact, they only listened to Dong Zhuo's orders, and Dong Zhuo pointed out which Dong Zhuo army to fight This was the basis for Dong Zhuo to dare to disobey the Holy Will and bargain with the Han Ling Emperor, and no one in the Yuan family had enough prestige or strength in the army.

The strength and rank of the imperial family, the Yuan clan of Runan, such as Jin Wu Dingyuan, Dongjun Taishou Qiaomao and others, were more than a long way behind Dong Zhuobi.

From the fact that the He brothers quickly chose to defect to Dong Zhuo, and his subordinate Lü Bu would rather turn to Dong Zhuo with the notoriety of "killing the Lord and seeking glory", it can be seen that the "barrel of the gun" under Dong Zhuo's command is definitely far stronger than Ding Yuan, Qiao Mao and others.

Dong Zhuo was a famous general of the empire, and his "gun barrel" was the hardest in Luoyang, and after serving in the army, he distributed the property rewarded by the imperial court to his subordinates, which made people feel from the bottom of their hearts that he was a good boss who was assured and reliable. With the above conditions of Dong Zhuo, it is enough for him to become the first choice for the new boss of the old department of the He brothers.

Ma Yuan, the founding general of the Eastern Han Dynasty, first saw the Guangwu Emperor Liu Xiu had a dialogue, in the chaotic world, not only "Junxue Chen" but also "Subjects also choose Jun" era, after the Yellow Turban Rebellion, not to mention people of insight, even ordinary people can also confirm the arrival of the chaotic world, Dong Zhuo is the old department of the He brothers after the change of Luoyang Palace, which can lead them from victory to victory and usher in a better tomorrow. The history books record that the time when the old department of the He brothers defected to Dong Zhuo was used to "seek and find" (from the history books, it is speculated that it was the day that Dong Zhuo entered Luoyang on the 28th), which shows the fast decision of the old department of the He clan to turn to Dong Zhuo.

After Dong Zhuo quickly absorbed the old department of the He brothers, he also set his sights on the Xiangzhou Legion, which had a good relationship with him. Ding Yuan was afraid that he was showing his resistance to Dong Zhuo and touching Dong Zhuo's killing chance. This happened when Dong Zhuo, who we know, bribed Lü Bu to kill Ding Yuan.

Dong Zhuo followed the Xiongnu Zhonglang in the last year of the Han Huan Emperor to "conquer and merge the state with merit, worship Lang Zhong, and give him nine thousand horses", and served as the assassin of the former hezhou before the Yellow Turban Rebellion, and there is enough reason to believe that the former and the governor of The State of Dong Zhuo and the lü bu of the Wuyuan County of the Prefecture have known each other for a long time, and even have a very good relationship.

This is dong Zhuo's inducement to make overtures, Lü Bu killed the former lord Ding Yuan, who was "deeply treated", took the Hezhou Army to Dong Zhuo, and formed a "father and son" trust base, which also understands one of the reasons why Dong Zhuo would be so big as to entrust his security work to Lü Bu, who "killed the lord and seek glory", after receiving Lü Bu, who "killed the lord".

The main composition of the Hezhou Army and Dong Zhuo's Liangzhou Army are actually similar in composition, which are mainly "Shangwu" Qianghu and Bianjun Han. Lü Bu took the state army to surrender to the old leader who had always shared all the rewards among his subordinates. Dong Zhuo's "expectations" were corroborated by Zhang Liao, another military leader in the "Hezhou Department", who defected to Dong Zhuo with more than a thousand people recruited back to Luoyang.

Why did the Hezhou Legion choose to defect to Dong Zhuo?

The scholar camp occupies too many military and political resources of the Empire, as vested interests, let them share the benefits that belong to themselves (or they think they should belong to themselves) to others, it is really difficult for other foreign forces to go in and share a small cup of broth, and if foreign forces want to come and share a large bowl of broth, it will only be more difficult.

Dong Zhuo did not have so much historical baggage, at least Dong Zhuo showed that he was indeed more willing to accept the Hezhou Army (however, the Hezhou Legion was still disappointed in Dong Zhuo later, and Lü Bu killed Dong Zhuo).

Dong Zhuo's first family, as an emerging military force, suddenly broke into Luoyang City from the locality, and if they wanted to gain a firm foothold in Luoyang City, they had to squeeze the interests of the scholars and doctors who occupied a large amount of military and political resources of the empire, give their own concubines and the strength willing to turn to him, and win the most military and political resources. Lü Bu, Zhang Liao, and other marginal soldiers also thought that following Dong Zhuo mixed up would have more prospects, so the Hezhou department chose to turn their backs on Ding Yuan and join Dong Zhuo.

Fu Shang pin Three Kingdoms: 28 Dong Zhuo's Luoyang City

At this point, Dong Zhuo's military strength in Luoyang City was dominant, and "Jin and Miao Buqu had no belonging, they were all outstanding." Zhuo also made Lü Bu kill Jin Wu Dingyuan and his people, so the military power in Kyoto was only in Zhuo."

"The military power in Kyoto is only in Zhuo", it may not only be the He brothers, but also the state department has chosen to defect to Dong Zhuo, and many of the military forces in Luoyang City that were originally hesitant to wait and see have also taken advantage of Dong Zhuo after Dong Zhuo clearly took advantage.

For example, the remaining strength of the Eunuch Clique in the Beijing Army (in "Three Kingdoms of Fu Shangpin: 2 The Fundamental Causes of the Eunuch Dictatorship of Foreign Relatives and Eunuchs in the Eastern Han Dynasty") the author pointed out that the reason why eunuchs were relied upon by the empress dowager of the Dynasty and the emperor in power, and became an important weight to restrict foreign relatives and scholars, was that the eunuchs had a deep influence on the Beijing military system, and after the outbreak of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, the "party hammer" was lifted, and the scholar master regained his advantage in the local official field, in order to save the small life of his own in-laws and children, to prevent the officials of the Huan Emperor Dynasty who called themselves "Clean Stream" to ignore the laws of the imperial court. The situation of the lives of Cao Suga's own sons and daughters was repeated, the eunuch party disciples who were local officials were dismissed, this group of eunuch party members had nowhere to go, and there should be many eunuchs who were inserted into the capital army as officials by Quan Eunuch An), and the Beijing army system attached to the eunuch group was severely damaged in the Luoyang Palace Change, but it became hasty, and this military force subordinate to the eunuch group was not completely eradicated or digested, and as Dong Zhuo gained an absolute advantage in Luoyang, this group of eunuch party remnants who escaped a life and had a long-standing grudge with the scholar camp naturally chose to side with Dong Zhuo. Although Dong Zhuo's political stance is also a eunuch, under the premise of some elections, the remnants of the castration party are definitely more willing to choose Dong Zhuo, whose contradictions are not so deep, rather than the camp of the great scholars.

The Han Yulin Zhonglang subordinate Yulin Lang was selected from the "Liangjiazi of the Six Counties", the Liangjiazi refers to the children of well-born, non-medical, witch, shangjia, and Hundred Workers, the Six Counties refers to the Tianshui, Longxi, Anding, Beidi Four Counties of Liangzhou and shangjun and Xihe County, Dong Zhuo represents the Lianghe soldiers and Yu Linlang from the Six Counties have a natural affinity, which is conducive to Dong Zhuo to win the support of Yulin Lang, Dong Zhuo is also selected from the Liangjiazi of the Six Counties as Yulin Lang, in the context of the change of Luoyang Palace, the heavy damage to imperial power, and the decline in the authority of the imperial court. Yu lin zhonglang general Huan Dian is simply unable to control the "free" choice of yu lin lang under his command. Just two days after Dong Zhuo entered Beijing, the situation in Luoyang was completely reversed, and Dong Zhuo actually controlled Luoyang City.

Probably at this time, when Dong Zhuo explicitly or implicitly deposed Sikong Liu Hong's official position on the grounds that it had not rained for a long time, the official position of Sikong Liu Hong was replaced by Dong Zhuo (the Eastern Han Dynasty's dismissal of the Three Dukes by disasters such as celestial phenomena and earthquakes was a political norm, and it was not until the wei emperor Cao Pi was abolished). But be the boss empty. Dong Zhuo, who ranked third duke, was not satisfied, and he decided to make further "big news" - deposing the emperor.
