Todd will return to Ferrari as a super consultant or accelerate Ferrari's path to revival

In December 2021, Jean Todd will step down as FIA president, and there is already news about his future whereabouts. Old club Ferrari team hopes to return to the team at the age of 75 in the role of super consultant.

Italian media revealed that as long as his successor to the FIA is identified on December 17, Todd will accept Ferrari's invitation.

Todd has been in close contact with Ferrari President John Elcan, and a few days ago to visit Maranello to help the FIA's female driver selection campaign "Girls on Track - Rising Stars".

Todd's possible role is that of a consultant to the team, after all, he is inextricably linked to Ferrari. From 1993 to 2009, Todd served as team manager and CEO, during which time the team won a total of 14 driver and constructors' championships.

Elkan intends to put Todd in an executive role, primarily in response to the 2026 rule changes, without conflict with Binotto's work. Binotto can focus more on the job on the track.

Todd not only held key positions at Ferrari Racing but also as president of the FIA, and his experience and relationships are a great asset for Ferrari.

The current F1 CEO, Domenicari, took over Todd's position as leader at Ferrari at the time, and the relationship between the two was very unusual. Todd's son, Nicholas, was also the agent of driver Leclerc.

Some argue that Todd's role at Ferrari is similar to that of Nicky Lauda in Mercedes.

Lauda became non-executive chairman of the Mercedes team in 2012 and helped Wolff with his work, as an honorary reward for which he received a 10% stake in the team.
