After 3 days of fierce competition, on the afternoon of December 5, the 2021 Guangdong Province "China Sports Lottery" Youth Surfing Championship came to a successful end in Qing'ao Bay, South Australia. The Shantou team won the first place in the overall score of the group and the moral fashion award. Huang Bingzhuang, deputy director of the Municipal Sports Bureau, and other leaders attended the award ceremony.
The competition is sponsored by the Provincial Sports Bureau, organized by the Provincial Social Sports and Training Competition Center, the Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, and the People's Government of Nan'ao County, and co-organized by the Provincial Sports Lottery Center, the Provincial Sailing Association, the Nan'ao County Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, and the Municipal Water Sports Association. The competition attracted 9 representative teams from Zhuhai, Shantou, Huizhou, Shanwei, Maoming, Chaozhou, Qingyuan, Shenzhen Amateur Sports School and Shenzhen Surf Association to compete for the laurels of longboard, short board and paddle board. The Shantou team performed well, with Shantou's Chen Zhaoyu winning the gold medal in the Men's Longboard Individual and Team Competitions of Group A, Lin Xiaoling winning the gold medal in the Women's Longboard Individual And Team Competitions of Group B, and Yang Yixin and Pan Yizhen winning the gold medal in the Women's Paddle Board Team Competition of Group A.
It is reported that due to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, the audience was not allowed to enter the game at the scene of the competition, and various epidemic prevention and control measures were strictly implemented. The Provincial Junior Surfing Championships are the second time this provincial competition has been held in Tsing O Bay after the success of last year's Ingdao Island. The successful holding of the event is of positive significance for Nan'ao County to prepare for the Asian Youth Congress, publicize and display the ecological beauty, historical beauty and humanistic beauty of the island, and promote the integrated development of the cultural and tourism industry in South Australia.
