Wang Shichen (王士禛), zizhen (字子真), also known as Ruan Ting (阮亭), also known as Yuyangshan ren ,, was a native of Xincheng County, Jinan Province (Huantai, Shandong).
Wang Shichen was born into a family of generations. His great-grandfather, Wang Zhiyuan, was a left attendant of the Ming Household Department and wrote the Records of the Chronicles of the Chronicles. His grandfather, Wang Xiangjin, was a political envoy to the Ming Dynasty.
When Wang Shichen was six or seven years old, he entered the rural school, learned to recite Tang poems and began to write poems, and his poetry talent has been revealed. At the age of 15, he wrote many poems and compiled them into the First Draft of the Falling Notes Hall. At the age of 17, he participated in the county, prefectural and provincial boy examinations, and all ranked first, and was known as a "prodigy". In the eighth year of Qing Shunzhi (1651), he went to the township to try to lift. In the fifteenth year of Shunzhi (1658), he went to Beijing to participate in the temple examination and became a second-class scholar.
Wang Shichen is a representative of the famous Shen Yun poetry school. His poems are fresh and well-defined, emphasizing the excitement and subtlety of poetry creation, and taking the rhyme of clarity, lightness, leisure and distance as the highest state of poetry. He advocated that poetry was "natural and unobtrusive" and "free from nature and unsentimental" without being conventional.
Wang Shichen's four poems "Autumn Willow" have always been regarded as one of his masterpieces. The whole poem borrows the fading color of autumn willow as a touch, with a euphemistic tone, clever use of canon, lamenting the impermanence of prosperity and decline, and the organic combination of chants and allegories has a strong artistic appeal.

What is even more amazing is that the whole poem is written in the willow, but there is no "willow" word in the whole text, showing the poet's profound artistic refining skills.

After the "Autumn Willow" poem came out, it spread throughout the north and south of the great river, and famous scholars from all over the country, such as Gu Tinglin and Xu Ye, gathered here in Wang Shichen. Later, the literati of Jinan established the "Qiuliu Poetry Society" on the shore of Ming Lake, where Wang Shichen was studying, and built a museum.
In the garden, the willow silk is yiyi, the creek is babbling, the rainbow bridge is lying on the wave, the lotus fragrance is overflowing, the literati often come here to gather, watch the willow and appreciate the lotus, improvise poems, write sentences, step rhyme and advocate peace, and the number is Autumn Willow Garden.
As the years passed, the Autumn Willow Garden gradually disappeared. After the expansion of the scenic spot, qiuliu garden was restored.
The newly built Qiuliu Garden is a courtyard of semi-enclosed space composed of small living rooms and pavilions, pavilions and corridors.
When I came to the garden, I saw a bronze statue standing on the right side of the gate, dressed as a Qing Dynasty man, holding up a pen in his right hand and a book in his left hand, seemingly chanting poetry.
The gate is a hall and a roll-style hanging flower door, on the door hangs a large plaque of "Qiu Liu Yuan" written by He Shaoji, and the left and right yang lian are the couplets of Ji Xianlin's book Qing Dynasty Qian Mingshi to Send Wang Shichen: "Shang Shu Tian Beidou, Si Kou Lu Dong Jia".
Enter the gate of Qiuliu Garden, but see the lush trees, small bridges flowing water, and the verandas on both sides are carved with poems written by wang Shichen written by famous calligraphers. On the second floor, there is a horizontal plaque of "Qiuliu Poetry Society", and the couplet is "Exchange Singing and Autumn Willow Garden, Discuss and Deliberate Under the Mountain", all of which are inscribed by the famous scholar Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi.
Entering the hall on the first floor, there is a wooden screen at the entrance, and there is a bas-relief portrait, in which Wang Shichen is dressed in a robe, holding a book in his left hand, and his long hair is flowing, and he looks dignified.
On both sides of the portrait is Wang Shichen's cursive calligraphy: "The name must be called Fang Good in the future, and the book is too late to be read in this life."
The hall is surrounded by Bogu shelves and glass display cases, displaying replicas of the objects used by Wang Shichen during his lifetime. On the right is the four chapters of the wood carving Wang Shichen's "Autumn Willow" poem, written by Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi.
The display of these exhibits has created a strong cultural atmosphere, allowing people to fully feel the style of "bluestone slabs as paper, willow branches as millimeters, Water splashing ink in Ming Lake, and autumn willow poems into rows".
Standing in this quiet, quaint and chic courtyard, breathing the natural breath of the charm, as if you can cleanse your soul.
