Guangzhou City Vocational College, located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, is a college-level ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province, filed with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and organized by the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government in March 2005. The school's history can be traced back to 1962, the predecessors of Guangzhou Amateur University, Guangzhou Economic Management Cadre College, Guangzhou Finance and Trade Management Cadre College and Guangzhou Township Enterprise Management Cadre College, in 2005 merged and established the school and changed its current name. In May 2009, the Guangzhou Municipal Government approved the college to hang the "Guangzhou Community College" brand, becoming the first community college in Guangzhou.
