Preparations for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are in place

On December 3, the Information Office of the State Council held a press conference to introduce the latest preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the preparations for the Yanqing and Zhangjiakou competition areas, and answer reporters' questions.

According to the Organizing Committee of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics are scheduled to open on February 4 and close on February 20; the Winter Paralympic Games are scheduled to open on March 4 and close on March 13. Preparations are in place.

Yan Cheng, executive director of the dispatching center of the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Operation Headquarters, introduced that from October 5 to the end of December this year, 10 international events, 3 international training weeks and 2 domestic test activities have been carried out in an orderly manner, which is a series of series and all-element operation tests before the Winter Olympic Games.

At the same time as the test matches were held, the preparatory work before the Winter Olympics continued to deepen. All 12 competition venues have been completed and have the conditions to run the competition, the ice project venue has completed the ice making, and the preparation of the snow project venue track is progressing smoothly. The three winter Olympic villages in the three competition areas were newly decorated, and the building lights were lit successively, and a series of full-process, all-element, and scenario-based operational stress tests were carried out. The operation teams of all competition venues and non-competition venues have all been assembled and personnel are in place, ready to meet the arrival of wartime. Accommodation, catering, transportation, medical care, security and other services have been promoted in an orderly manner, the preparations for the torch relay and the opening and closing ceremonies have been deepened day by day, and the publicity and promotion activities have been heating up.

"In the next step, we will properly respond to the risk of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, optimize the organization of the competition, improve the operation mechanism of the venue, strengthen the service guarantee of the competition, further strengthen the training and drill of the organizers, and strive to win the final victory of the preparatory work in the state of pressing the line." Yan Cheng said.
