The former site of the Lotus Temple reorganization is located in the Lotus Temple Administrative Village Lotus Temple Villagers Group in Taibai Town. The old site is about 100 meters long from east to west and about 60 meters wide from north to south, with a rectangular terrace with an area of about 6,000 square meters.
On November 8, 1933, in accordance with the spirit of the Baojiazhai Conference, Liu Zhidan, Wang Taiji, and others held a general meeting of all the soldiers at the Lotus Temple in the Taibai Hulu River to reorganize the troops. It was officially announced that the Red Twenty-sixth Army would be restored, the Red Forty-second Division would be established, and cadres at all levels would be appointed. Wang Taiji served as the commander of the Red Forty-second Division, Liu Zhidan as deputy division commander and chief of staff, Gao Gang as political commissar, Huang Ziwen as director of the political department, and Liu You as director of the supply department. The Red Forty-second Division had two regiments under its jurisdiction, the Red Third Regiment was composed of the Northwest People's Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army and the Yaoxian Guerrillas, as well as the vanguard of the Red Fourth Regiment, with about 260 people, with Wang Shitai as the regimental commander, Li Yingnan as the political commissar, and Huang Luobin as the deputy regimental commander; the first and second companies of the Red Fourth Regiment were changed into cavalry regiments, with about 180 people, Huang Zixiang as the regimental commander, and Yang Sen as the political commissar. The division had more than 500 men, each with one gun and fifty or sixty war horses. The division headquarters consists of a headquarters, a political department, a supply department, and a guard company directly under it. In order to strengthen the party's absolute leadership over the Red Army, party committees and branches were set up in the structure of divisions, regiments, and companies, and Yang Sen was the secretary of the division party committee. The three-way guerrilla command was initially established, and the list of areas and leaders of the various guerrilla groups was clarified.
The reorganization of the Lotus Temple is of great significance in the history of the development of the Red Army in Shaanxi-Gansu-Gansu-Bian, which has officially restored the Red Twenty-sixth Army, reorganized the troops, strengthened the party's leadership over the army, and exerted a far-reaching impact on the armed struggle and base area construction in Shaanxi-Gansu-Gansu-Bian.
