Chiang Kai-shek's personal commander of the corps, whose real identity was an underground party, died in an accident after the uprising

Among the red agents of our party, the "Three Masters of Longtan" are well known, in fact, there are many outstanding red agents who are little known, such as the one I want to introduce today, who broke into the center of the Kuomintang army and was personally appointed by Chiang Kai-shek as the commander of the corps.

This great red agent is Guo Rujie, a native of Tongliang, Chongqing, born in a family of scholars, but unfortunately the family fell in the middle of the road, during his study in Chengdu, he was influenced by progressive ideas, he had a good feeling for Marxism-Leninism, in 1925, 18-year-old Guo Rugui threw himself into the pen.

He went south to Guangzhou with his friends, was admitted to the fifth phase of Huangpu, embarked on the road of professional soldiers, during the Huangpu period he was influenced by our party personnel, took the initiative to ask to join the party, established contact with party member Yuan Jingming and others, and entered the inspection period of joining the party.

However, due to Chiang Kai-shek's rebellion against the revolution, Guo Rugui returned to Sichuan to work at the suggestion of the organization, and soon after, the Sichuan warlords also carried out "Qing Communists", resulting in Guo Rugui losing contact with the party organization, and suddenly making Guo Rugui lose his way.

While wandering, he had the idea of studying in Japan to learn military skills, and then went to the Japanese Non-Commissioned Officer School to study, and in November 1930, Guo Rujie arrived in Japan, where he was humiliated during his studies in Japan, and many new weapons were not exposed to Chinese students.

In 1931, after the "918" Guo Rugui and a group of Other Chinese students voluntarily dropped out of school to return to China, and then entered the Army University to study, when Chiang Kai-shek was the president of Lu University, Guo Rugui mistakenly became a "Tianzi protégé", which allowed him to step forward in the future.

At that time, Guo Rugui was not yet famous, and the first to appreciate him was Chiang Kai-shek's confidant Chen Cheng, during the Battle of Songhu, Guo Rugui acted as the brigade commander of the 42nd Brigade of the 14th Division, and he commanded more than 8,000 people to hold the position for 7 days and 7 nights, resisting the crazy attack of the Japanese army.

Despite the loss of more than 6,000 people, but holding the position, the appearance of the weak Guo Rugui impressed everyone, Chen Cheng also had a good feeling for him, and soon appointed him as the chief of staff of the 54th Army, Guo Rugui's military talent was indeed good, which was displayed during the later Battle of Wuhan.

In formulating the defensive plan for Wuhan, he learned the lesson of Nanjing's defeat and put the main force outside the city, a suggestion supported by Chen Cheng and the generals, which later proved to be wise, and although Wuhan was lost, the troops did not suffer major losses.

This made Chen Cheng even more appreciative of him, and he was promoted to Chiang Kai-shek as the commander of the Provisional 5th Division, after which Guo Rugui led his troops to participate in the Third Battle of Changsha, performed well, was commended by Chiang Kai-shek, and was appointed as the captain of the Ninth Theater Officer Training Corps after the war.

Fully demonstrating the importance that Chiang Kai-shek placed on him, Guo Rugui continued to be promoted during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, but he continued to try to restore contact with our Party until after the victory of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and did not re-establish contact until after the victory of the War of Resistance, and obtained an interview with Dong Biwu, the head of the Southern Bureau.

Following the organization's suggestion, he continued to remain in the Kuomintang army, and after three major battles, the remnants of the Kuomintang retreated to the southwest, and Guo Rugui was appointed by Chiang Kai-shek as the commander of the 22nd Corps, and when the People's Liberation Army entered Sichuan, he led the 72nd Army of the Yan clan to revolt in Yibin.
