In the 1940s, Shu Xiuwen successfully created the artistic image of Wang Lizhen, the "Lady of the War of Resistance", in the movie "A River of Spring Water Flowing Eastward", which still has a far-reaching influence to this day.

Shu Zhaoyuan is the son of Shu Xiuwen, and although he grew up in Beijing, Pingshan Village is no stranger to him. For decades, he would often return to his hometown to clean up his mother's former home and pay tribute to his ancestors. Like most Chinese, in Shu Zhaoyuan's heart, the meaning of "filial piety" is broad and deep. Even if their parents pass away, they must fulfill their unfulfilled wishes.
July 18, 2014 is Shu Xiuwen's 99th birthday. On this special day, Shu Zhaoyuan wants to fulfill a wish for his mother. Although Shu Zhaoyuan was unable to walk normally because of the stroke, he still insisted on returning to Pingshan Village with his daughter despite his family's opposition.
Shu Zhaoyuan recalled that my mother was a very, very filial piety person, at that time earned 30 oceans a month, then my mother sent all 25 oceans home, she herself left 1 ocean, 2 oceans, renting houses, eating. Shu Xiuwen is also filial to her parents, and there is a big aunt at home, so she also comes back to see. As our descendants, we feel very proud and proud to be able to produce such a people's artist.
According to the tradition of Ping Shan, the birthday of parents every ninth is particularly solemn. Although his mother has long passed away, Shu Zhaoyuan attaches great importance to this 99-year-old birthday. He specially brought home some of his mother's ashes and relics from his life. This doll is a gift from Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao to Shu Xiuwen, and it is her most beloved toy before she died. After Shu Xiuwen passed away, the doll became Shu Zhaoyuan's sustenance for his mother's feelings.
In order to thank the clan for their maintenance of his mother's former residence, Shu Zhaoyuan prepared a banquet in the Shu ancestral hall and invited the clan to reunite. As dusk approached, the tribesmen gradually dispersed. Shu Zhaoyuan took his daughter to the banks of Jiyang Creek in front of his mother's former residence, and he wanted to hold a special ceremony for his mother's birthday. Candles and petals, along with some of Shu Xiuwen's ashes, slowly spilled into the creek of his hometown, and walked around the village along the jiyang stream. This road home, which has lasted for nearly a century, finally came true on Shu Xiuwen's 99th birthday.
