Japanese costume designer Emi Wada (formerly: Emiko Wada) died on November 13 at the age of 84. She is active on the international stage with the film "Chaos" directed by the famous Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, which won the American Academy Award for Best Costume Design in 1986. The farewell ceremony was held by close relatives.

During her studies at Kyoto Municipal University of Fine Arts (now Kyoto Municipal University of the Arts), Wada was responsible for stage costumes and later embarked on the path of designer.

In addition to Japanese films such as "Rishi" directed by Hiroshi Kawahara and "Mifado" directed by Nagisa Oshima, Wada Megumi also participated in the costume design of "Hero" and "Ten Faces Ambush" directed by Chinese director Zhang Yimou.

Her role in the japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa's opera Oedipus King (1992) was also released in the United States, where she won the Emmy Award for Best Costume Design, the highest award in television.

Emi Wada's husband was former Japanese NHK director Mitsuru Wada (who died in 2011).
