Being a cop is an agreement and an oath
July 26, 2010, is a day that Zhang Chao will never forget. Because of this day, he finally fulfilled his agreement with his father when he was young and became a policeman.
Zhang Chao's father, Zhang Xiaoming, was a police officer of the patrol special police detachment, and on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival in 1994, the 33-year-old was unfortunately hit by a car and died while on duty on the highway bridge.
Although Zhang Chao was only 7 years old at the time, he still vividly remembers the last words his father said to him when he left home with a smile: "When dad comes back, take you to the park for a roller coaster ride." He happily sent his father out, but what he was waiting for was the bad news of his father's sacrifice.

Zhang Chao knows very well that his father sacrificed his precious life for the beloved cause of public security, and his deepest nostalgia for him is to continue to move forward along his footsteps and turn the red blood into a force to protect the peace of the people.
Becoming a "DongLai" police officer is a legacy and a challenge
As soon as he became a policeman, he was assigned to the glorious collective of the Daowai Substation Donglai Street Police Station, and Zhang Chao felt both excited and full of pressure. "I would rather suffer from a thousand winds and frosts, and I am willing to shield the people from the wind and cold" is the oath of the "Donglai" police, and it has also become Zhang Chao's motto.
When he first arrived at "Donglai", Zhang Chao measured the jurisdiction with his footsteps and began to familiarize himself with the masses from house to house. He knows very well that his image and words and deeds represent the "Donglai" police and the Harbin public security, so he does not dare to slack off in the slightest. From his dress to his speech, he was attentive and sincere. Soon, the residents accepted this simple and amiable little piece of police. He also lived up to expectations and became the backbone and intimate of the people, and his leaders and colleagues praised him as a business expert.
In April 2011, Zhang Chao received the first pennant from the masses. Liu Mou, a resident of the jurisdiction, called him for help, saying that his niece needed a political trial when she entered the job, and when he learned that Zhang Chao was training at the provincial police academy, Liu was slightly disappointed because there was little time left to report political review materials. Zhang Chao comforted Liu in an affirmative tone: "You can rest assured, I will take leave now to go back, this matter must be too late." Over the next two days, Zhang Chao traveled through six units in four main urban areas, and finally, Liu's niece boarded the train to Beijing as she wished. After sending his niece away, Liu came to the police station to present a pennant and thanked Zhang Chao for "being anxious about what the masses are anxious about and thinking about what the masses think".
In the seven years of working at "Dong Lai", Zhang Chao took care of the negligent elderly, snatched gas canisters from the fire, squatted for ten days and ten nights to catch old thieves who stole all over the outer area, and he personally captured 188 fugitives.
What changes is the post, and what does not change is the original intention
In March 2016, Zhang Chao was transferred to the Public Security Detachment and successively worked in the Secretariat Section, the Action Team, and the Legal Affairs Section. Because of his outstanding achievements, he has been rated as an outstanding civil servant by the Municipal Bureau for four consecutive times and has won many awards.
Every time the detachment launched an operation to crack down on pornography and gambling, Zhang Chao charged ahead and served as an example. Since the beginning of this year alone, he has participated in the investigation of 14 cases of various types of yellow gambling, arrested 299 violators, and confiscated nearly one million yuan of gambling funds. What impressed him most was the prostitution case they cracked at a guild hall on September 23, 2020. The case was listed and supervised by the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Public Security Department. At that time, he disregarded his personal safety and broke into the criminal gang and obtained important clues and evidence, laying a solid foundation for the successful detection of the case. As a result, he and his comrades-in-arms were commended by the Provincial Public Security Department and the Municipal Public Security Bureau, and were honored with the second class of collective merit.
In the special struggle against organized crime and evil forces, Zhang Chao participated in the investigation and handling of many influential cases, which was fully affirmed by the municipal anti-gang crime office.
