A player in Ontario tried a new lottery that cost $50 for just one, but the high payout brought him even better luck – he won the $50,000 jackpot!
Just after a $50 lottery ticket was won, a lottery player had some exciting plans for the future.
Luc Tardif is a 61-year-old business owner living in Napean, Ontario. He said that he would buy lottery tickets to play regularly, but he didn't have any preferences and liked to play a variety of lottery games.
Then one day, he decided to try his luck and bought an instant ticket for a $50,000 jackpot for a $50 "hefty amount".
"I went to the store and used the ticket gate," he recalls, as he was stunned to see that he had won the jackpot.
"When I saw $50,000 coming up, I had to re-scan it and count to zero. He said.
"I was amazed to see so much money!"
He immediately told his daughter the good news, but since he was notoriously prankstered, he struggled to convince her that it wasn't a prank—she needed proof.
"I had to send her a photo of the confirmation letter," Tadiff recalled.
She was shocked and delighted. ”
When picking up his check at the OLG Awards Center, he said he didn't have any big plans to win yet, but he was thinking about renovating his home and traveling.
"It feels good!" he said.
