With the magnificent and vigorous melody, on the evening of November 28, the opera "Zhang Qian", which has been nearly 30 years since its premiere, successfully completed the performance task of the Seventh Silk Road International Art Season and came to a successful end.
The opera "Zhang Qian", created by the Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Theater, was put on the stage in the 1990s, and it became a beautiful business card of Shaanxi's literary and artistic undertakings, not only won countless honors, but also together with two other operas "Sima Qian" and "Han Suwu", constituted the famous "Great Han Trilogy" in the history of Shaanxi opera.
The opera "Zhang Qian" in this performance is divided into five acts, telling the story of Zhang Qian volunteering to go to the Western Regions, but was accidentally captured in xiongnu territory, forced to marry the Xiongnu princess Fu Yun, and gave birth to a son. However, affection and love did not make Zhang Qian fold his wings, and when the Xiongnu king wanted to raise an army to fight against the Han Dynasty, he angrily decided to escape from the Xiongnu and continue his journey to the west. But at this time, Fu Yun was deeply in love with Zhang Qian and resolutely let him go. The journey to the west was long and full of obstacles, Zhang Qian crossed the dangerous White Dragon Pile all the way, but when she arrived at yueshi, she met Fu Yun again, but at this time she was already an emissary sent by the Xiongnu State to marry her relatives and hinder Zhang Qian from forming a friendly alliance...
In the nearly 3-hour performance, the young generation of literary and artistic workers of the Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Theater reproduced the story of the great explorer, traveler and diplomat Zhang Qian through superb performances, and praised the spirit of a generation of heroes who are not afraid of hardships and dangers, dare to be the first, unswerving and indomitable style, and the pride of adhering to integrity and fulfilling the mission. In the words of Ren Yong, artistic director of Shaanxi Song and Dance Theater, "Zhang Qian" is a classic handed down by generations of Shaanxi Song and Dance Theater, and the continuous polishing and upgrading is only to let the classics be passed on forever, so that the spirit contained in the classics can be passed on from generation to generation - not only to learn Zhang Qian's pioneering spirit and home and country feelings of "chiseling the western region", but also to inherit the attitude of the older generation of literary and art workers to strive for excellence, so as to grow better and perform more masterpieces worthy of the times.
It is also for the purpose of cultivating new talents for the cause of Shaanxi opera, this re-rehearsal of "Zhang Qian" all uses young actors, which is a huge challenge for the Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Theater. Dai Yimin, head of the opera troupe of the academy, said frankly that the new generation of opera performers need a stage to practice, and the national opera also needs fresh blood to inherit, so the troupe is willing to face the challenge with the younger generation. This spirit of facing challenges head-on is also reflected in the daily hard rehearsals, and everyone has a lot of energy and is eager to prove themselves with excellent performances. The endless applause after the end of the show also showed the audience's recognition of the performance, which also made Dai Yimin feel relieved and proud of the younger generation of his theater.
Ms. Liu watched the opera "Zhang Qian" in 2013, and she recalled that after watching the performance that year, she lamented to her friends that the literary and art workers in Shaanxi used opera art from the West to interpret Zhang Qian, a Chinese hero, but there was no sense of cultural violation at all. Nearly 10 years later, when she learned that the opera "Zhang Qian" was once again rearranged and appeared on the stage of this Year's Silk Road International Arts Festival, she took her friends who watched the play together to relive the classics together. "The costumes, props and makeup are obviously much better than before, and the stage effects can also be seen that they are pursuing the latest industry development trends, while retaining the classic taste as a whole, the new generation of actors have also performed features that are different from the older generation, and make the spirit to be transmitted by the play last forever."
