Don Quixote Reading Record VI

author:Boom

Here's the shepherd's story:

There was a very beautiful girl in their village, and her beauty was widely known, and as for those who came to ask for relatives, they almost broke through the threshold. Her father ended up choosing two young men of equal stature in the village, one was the shepherd Ohnio and the other was Anselme. While everyone was speculating about who would be the lucky one in the end, the son of a poor family in the village returned to his hometown. When he returned from the army, he was obviously a pawn but he exaggerated his exploits in spite of his shame, dressed himself up every day, played a good piano, and occasionally read a few poems. Of course, his appearance could not escape the sharp eyes of the crowd, but he charmed the beautiful girl Leondra, and eventually they eloped.

When people find Leondra in a cave, the girl says that she was deceived, and the poor soldier has cheated her of all the money and locked her up in the cave. The girl's father sent the girl to the convent, hoping to wait for the gossip caused by his daughter to stop and come back. And the people in the village who had been obsessed with Leondra were heartbroken (I think they were blind) and ran to the mountains to become shepherds. Some of them praised her in the mountains and some slandered her, and the shepherds looked down on Leondra's group.

Everyone thought the shepherd's story was very interesting, and Don Quixote rushed up to say that he could free Leondra from the monastic and send him back to the shepherd, because Don Quixote was a knight to rescue the suffering. The shepherd was taken aback and wondered if there was something wrong with the man's brain, so he sneered a few words, but don Quixote fought with him again.

After the priest and the others had persuaded them to come down, another group of ascetics came up on the mountain path, carrying a statue of the Virgin Mary among them. Don Quixote imagined the scene again as a group of people hijacking a noblewoman, so he rushed up again to show his chivalry. One of the ascetics knocked Don Quixote to the ground, and Sancho, thinking don Quixote had been killed, burst into tears. Fortunately, the priests in the ascetics knew the priests on this side, so they understood the situation clearly so that they did not cause a larger group fight. Don Quixote finally woke up and was carried back to the village by the priests in an ox cart.

Just as the people of the village gathered in the middle of the village, everyone saw Don Quixote, and they were surprised to see him dressed, and they ran to tell his housekeeper and niece. Sancho's wife also ran over to him and asked if he had recovered anything from this trip. Feeling that Sancho had been assimilated by Don Quixote, he was obsessed with having a fief of his own, so he triumphantly told his wife about the journey.

Don Quixote was carried home, he had never understood how he had come here, and finally the fears of his niece and housekeeper came true, and when they were not paying attention, he ran out again and began his third outing.

End of don Quixote in the first part.
