(2) Study and carry forward Feng Youlan's spirit of diligent learning and unremitting struggle for self-improvement

The main manifestations of this noble spirit: First, Feng Youlan has dreamed of dreams since childhood and studied Chinese classics diligently. Feng Youlan began to enter the family school at the age of six, first reading the Three Character Classic, then reading the Analects, Mencius, The University, and the Zhongyong, and then reading the Book of Poetry in the Five Classics, and then reading the Main Classics of the Five Classics and the Thirteen Classics at the age of twelve. Feng Youlan and her younger siblings' spirit of diligently studying classics was highly praised by their parents and teachers, laying the cultural foundation for Mr. Feng Youlan to become a famous philosopher. Second, Feng Youlan was determined to study philosophy assiduously, and his studies were successful in repaying the motherland. In the winter of 1912, at the age of sixteen, Feng You Lankao shanghai Chinese Public School, he developed the ambition to learn philosophy from his interest in logic. In 1915, Feng Youlan was admitted to the Philosophy Gate of Peking University, and he tirelessly studied chinese philosophy. In 1919, he was admitted to the Department of Philosophy of Columbia University in the United States with the idea of solving practical problems in China, and he made a vow from the date of admission, determined to write a good diary every day and realize his ideals in life with the confidence of studying philosophy assiduously. Mr. Feng Youlan's first paper at Columbia University was "Why is there no science in China?" After graduation, he completed his earliest academic masterpiece, The Philosophy of Life, which opened a new era of Feng Youlan's philosophical and academic creation. Third, Feng Youlan actively explores and strives to continuously realize the transformation and development of his philosophical ideas. In order to fill in the gaps in the history of Chinese philosophy, Feng Youlan used the new realism to create the first and second volumes of the History of Chinese Philosophy from 1927 to 1935, establishing Feng Youlan's status as a historian of Chinese philosophy. In order to promote the victory of China's War of Resistance Against Japan, Feng Youlan used logical analysis from 1937 to 1945 to transform and create the "Six Books of Zhenyuan", which also laid the foundation for Feng Youlan's status as a philosopher. In order to meet the needs of national prosperity and national rejuvenation, Feng Youlan used Marxist theory as the guide from 1985 to the last decade of 1995 to create a new compilation of the history of Chinese philosophy, realizing the greater transformation and development of Feng Youlan's philosophy and fulfilling Mr. Feng Youlan's lifelong long-cherished wish.

Mr. Feng Youlan's transition from traditional Confucianism to new realism, from new realism to logical analysis, and then from logical analysis to Marxist philosophy, all reflect the noble character of a great scholar who constantly strives to pursue the innovative development of philosophy. Mr. Feng Youlan quoted four sentences from Hengqu in the New Edition of the History of Chinese Philosophy to express his spirit: "Establish a heart for heaven and earth, establish a destiny for the people, continue to learn from the saints, and open up peace for all the worlds." ”
