With great love, strive to be a "leader" of public welfare
Zhao Zhong was born in QuXian County, and after graduating from high school, he went to Shenzhen's Bao'an District to work.
"At that time, blood donation was just beginning to spread, and many people were afraid." In April 1998, Zhao Zhong went to the blood station to donate blood, but at that time, the blood donation had to be sampled and tested first, and direct blood collection was not allowed. After waiting for two days, Zhao Zhong received a notice from the blood bank, and the test results were qualified, and he could donate blood in the past. So he donated blood for the first time in his life. Watching his blood flow into the blood storage bag, thinking of letting people in urgent need of help regain their health, his heart felt extremely proud, and he suddenly felt that he had an extra "mission" on him.
In 2000, Zhao Zhong returned to his hometown of Quxian County to start a business. After a certain accumulation of career, he has more time and energy to pay attention to the difficult groups. "I set up the 'Love Family Public Welfare' QQ group, initially the group was full of relatives and friends, and then they pulled people in, and more and more people in the group." Zhao Zhong introduced that he was no longer limited to donations, and began to explore and carry out some practical activities for the people, leading volunteers to provide free physical examinations, haircuts, and donation of love materials for the people in need.
An incident in 2015 gave Zhao Zhong the idea of forming a "regular army." At that time, the life of a child without an anus in Quxian County was in danger, and Zhao Zhong spontaneously raised funds for the child in the group after learning about it. In just a few dozen days, a total of more than 100,000 yuan was raised. "At that time, it was only more than 200,000 yuan to buy a house in quxian county, and with such a huge amount of money, I was very worried." Zhao Zhong entrusted the financial personnel to publicize the details of the donation one by one, and only then did he breathe a sigh of relief by handing over all the donations to the parents of the children. This incident also made him determined to establish a legitimate public welfare organization with a complete structure.
Rescue teams carry out rescue in Henan
In October 2016, "Love Family Public Welfare" was officially registered as "Quxian Caring Volunteer Association" in the civil affairs department, and Zhao Zhong was elected as the president of the association. More than two months later, Zhao Zhong, relying on the Quxian Love Volunteer Association, established the Quxian Love Rescue Team and served as the team leader. At present, the number of registered members of the association has reached 300.
In order to quickly improve the rescue level of the rescue team, Zhao Zhong participated in more than 30 professional rescue training activities at his own expense, and obtained the "Ambulance Teacher Certificate" issued by the Red Cross Society of China, the "Red Cross Ambulance Certificate" issued by the Dazhou Red Cross Society, the "Inland Vessel Crew Compatibility Certificate" issued by the Dazhou Local Maritime Bureau, and strictly required the members of the association to carry out emergency rescue training every three months.
Floods are coming, and excavators are being brought in to evacuate the trapped masses
At the beginning of 2020, in the face of the sudden outbreak of new crown pneumonia, Zhao Zhong led more than 300 volunteers to build a solid epidemic protection wall for the local people and became a "hard-core" force on the frontline of grass-roots epidemic prevention. They roamed the streets and alleys of Quxian County, carrying out propaganda, persuasion, and safety patrols. More than 10,000 masks were distributed to front-line personnel, more than 100,000 yuan worth of daily necessities were sent, and more than 20,000 meals were delivered free of charge; voluntary disinfection work was carried out in public places in Quxian County; and more than 80 tons of epidemic prevention materials such as masks and disinfectants were organized. At the same time, Zhao Zhong also organized the establishment of a "psychological counseling team for epidemic prevention and control" to carry out online and offline psychological consultation and haircut services for the masses free of charge, accumulating more than 3,000 person-times. In addition, Zhao Zhong launched a love activity to help Hubei in Quxian County, sending 12 trucks of love anti-epidemic materials to Hubei.
In August this year, there was a sudden flood disaster in Quxian and other places. At 2:30 a.m. on August 8, Zhao Zhong received an emergency rescue notice and immediately led the rescue team with Zhang Xiaofei, deputy leader of the rescue team, to provide rapid support and successfully rescued the trapped people in the market of Lifu Town, Quxian County. During this period, they also overcame difficulties such as landslides and water accumulation, and completed the work of evacuating and transferring people and transferring materials. On the afternoon of August 8, because the flood was too large and the water flowed too quickly, the rescue boat could not operate normally, so Zhao Zhong commanded the rescue team member Zhang Quanlu to urgently provide two excavators, so that the victims could stand inside the digging bucket and move out one by one.
"Xichang forest fire", "Leshan flood", "Henan flood"... Every time a dangerous situation occurs, Zhao Zhong will organize volunteers of the association to actively support. Sleeping on the ground at the rescue site, his skin licked by flames, his body soaked in floodwaters, his body rashes and injuries, the scenes in these news reports have really happened to Zhao Zhonghe and the volunteers of the association. They risked their lives to ensure the safety of the local people and recover the property damage of the local people.
Over the years, Zhao Zhong has led the volunteers of the association to carry out hundreds of love activities, rescued thousands of people, and donated more than 3 million yuan.
"Doing public welfare is a lifelong thing, and I may be born to do public welfare." Today, Zhao Zhong's daughter has also joined the volunteer association, and even his son, who is in junior high school, will participate in volunteer activities on weekends.
