NGOs said they had helped the siblings apply to the EU for refugee asylum.

In the reception center on the Belarusian border, in the snow, some refugees who have just moved from camps near the crossing point gather in warehouses, lining up in front of mobile stoves to receive hot food and warmth, while children "have fun in pain" and play snowball fights in the snow.

Recently, thousands of refugees have tried to enter Poland, a member of the European Union, via Belarus, and eventually to Western European countries such as Germany. Poland and other countries have tightened border controls, resulting in a large number of people stranded at the border. Poland, Lithuania and the European Union blamed Belarus for the current refugee crisis, but Belarus countered that Western sanctions had left it unable to control refugee flows.

With the arrival of the long winter, the night temperature on the Polish-Belarusian border has dropped below zero, and with the more than 400 kilometers of forest and swamp-long border between Belarus and Belarus, the cold and humid environment has made refugees more and more in danger of hunger and distress. Humanitarian agencies say as many as 13 refugees have died on the Polish-Belarusian border.

Polish authorities estimate that at least 10,000 more refugees are still stranded in Belarus.
