My name is Yang Jinhai, born in 1954, I am 68 years old, and my grandfather Yang Shibin was an early revolutionary pioneer in Anhui Province. 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and as a descendant of Yang Shibin, I hope that the relevant government departments can build suitable commemorative facilities for Yang Shibin. According to historical records, Yang Shibin (1895~1948), a native of Xiaowanggang Village, Miaogang Township, Chaohu City. In the 6th year of the Republic of China (1917), he was admitted to the Sericulture Department of the Second Agricultural School of Wuhu. In 1919, he went to France with Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping and others to study for work-study, and in August 1920, he participated in the "Work-study Incentive Meeting" organized by Li Fuchun in France, establishing a strong belief in "believing in Marxism-Leninism". In the spring of 1921, he joined the communist group organized by Zhao Shiyan, Zhou Enlai, and others in France, and according to the memoirs published by Chen Duxiu's secretary, The Elder Zheng Chaolin, held the first congress of the Youth League in Europe in June 1922 in the french suburbs of Zhou Enlai, Zhao Shiyan, Li Weihan, Wang Ruofei, Chen Yannian, Zheng Chaolin, Yang Shibin, Li Weinong, Yin Kuan, and other 18 deputies, and established the Youth Communist Party. In 1924, Yang Shibin was sent to the Soviet Union to study, and at the end of the same year, he was arranged by the party to return to China to engage in revolutionary work in Anhui.

During Yang Shibin's stay in France

After returning to China in 14 years of the Republic of China, he served as a teacher at the Second Agricultural School of Wuhu and a member of the Party Branch of Wuhu, China. On May 11 of the same year, the long-simmering struggle to reclaim the right to education and oppose enslavement in Wuhu broke out in The two schools of St. Accord and Cuiwen. The campaign was carried out under the direct leadership of the CCP. Yang Shibin and Gong Qiao Yan, Ah Ying, Li Kenong, She Xiaosong, Wang Jiaxiang, Gan Tianmu, etc. have always stood at the forefront of the movement. Later, in order to relieve the students who had withdrawn from the two schools of Shengya Ge and CuiWen to continue to enroll, after a referendum by patriots in the educational circles of Anhui Province, the "May 30 Massacre" Support Committee allocated funds to build a new school, and he and Liu Xiping, She Xiaosong and Zhang Qiu rented a school building in Hong Kong, created a new private middle school, and served as the director of training. Around October 15 of the Republic of China, he was one of the heads of the Wuhu Special Branch of the Communist Party of China (under the central management). In March of the following year, Yang Shibin was appointed executive member of the Kuomintang's leftist Wuhu City Party Department and propaganda director. The "April 18" incident (the incident of destroying the Kuomintang leftist Wuhu City and County Party Headquarters) occurred, and the Wuhu authorities wantonly arrested people, and he left Wuhu and hid in Xuancheng. In May, the Anhui Provincial Provisional Committee of the Communist Party of China was established in Wuhan. In August, some members of the Provincial Provisional Committee returned to Wuhu, and Yang Shibin joined the Provincial Provisional Committee. In the winter of the same year, he was sent to Xuancheng as the secretary of the Xuancheng County CPC Committee, and his main task was to win over Chen Jinwen's troops and establish a peasant army. He first sent someone to contact the large knife battalion of the ministry, but unexpectedly at about 3 p.m. on January 23, 17 (the first day of the first lunar month), he was arrested by the Kuomintang Xuancheng County North Public Security Subbureau. After Yang Shibin's arrest, the Kuomintang Xuancheng County- sent him to the Xuancheng County Government the next day, and the county magistrate Pan Tinggan personally interrogated him and escorted him to Anqing, transferred him to the Nanjing Garrison Headquarters, and later sentenced him to prison. In prison, Yang Shibin was brutalized and tortured to the point of insanity. He died in Lishui County, Zhejiang Province in the 37th year of the Republic of China.

Reports of republic newspapers on Yang Shibin

I also learned from relevant historical materials that Yang Shibin was Li Kenong's introducer to joining the party. Li Li, the son of Admiral Li Kenong, said in an article entitled "Remembering His Father Li Kenong" published in Tianjin Daily on October 30, 2008, "In the winter of 1926, his father Li Kenong joined the Communist Party of China through the introduction of Yang Shibin and Yu Changzhun. On May 7, 2021, the Wuhu News Network published "Struggle for a Hundred Years, Set Sail for a New Journey • Red Footprints| The Special Branch of the Communist Party of China in Wuhu: The First Party Flag of Wuhu Is Raised Here", which said, "Yang Shibin returned from studying in France in the winter of 1925 and taught at the Anhui Provincial No. 2A Agricultural School in Wuhu, he joined the Communist Party during his stay in France, and Yang Shibin's secret identity at that time was a representative of the Yangtze River Bureau of the Communist Party of China, engaged in revolutionary activities in the Wuhu and Xuancheng areas. Today, in Yang Shibin's hometown of Chaohu City, Anhui Province, when Yang Shibin is mentioned, men, women and children know that Yang Shibin is a revolutionary pioneer. But there is no facility or place to commemorate Yang Shibin in his hometown. For this reason, I have traveled in many ways, and the personnel who received me fully understood my wishes, but for various reasons, they have not been concretely implemented. I hope that this matter can continue to receive the attention of relevant departments, and I also hope that the insiders can provide more information about Yang Shibin, hope that the organization can make a clear conclusion for Yang Shibin, and hope that the desire to build memorial facilities for Yang Shibin will become a reality one day earlier.
