Movie "Twelve Citizens": Because I understand, I am compassionate

Twelve Citizens is based on the 1957 American film Twelve Angry Men.

Synopsis: In the summer, a university of political science and law welcomes make-up exams for students who pass the final exams of common law classes. They formed a moot Western court, serving as judges, lawyers, prosecutors and other roles, and tried a controversial "20-year-old rich second generation father killing" case in society.

A jury of 12 parents of the students was formed. These people come from different strata of society and have different occupations. After hearing the student court, they will make a final "judgment" on the case. The 12 jurors did not know each other, but according to the rules, they had to agree to end the trial.

In the first round of voting, there were 11 people who found the "rich second generation" guilty, but when all the evidence and physical evidence pointed to this result, in the case that the young suspect was only one step away from the death of public opinion, juror No. 8 always insisted on innocence, guided the crowd to dig deeper into the clues, and constantly analyzed, in the final round of voting, the unanimous vote was not guilty, and the end of the film also told us that the rich second generation was indeed innocent, and the murderer had someone else.

After watching this movie, I recalled a sentence I had read before, "Because I understand, I am compassionate." From 11 votes found guilty to 12 votes found innocent, this is the result of the rational analysis of the 12 jurors and the result of their emotional choices.

Juror No. 5, the social boy with the tattoo on his body, may have experienced being wrongly sentenced to prison, he said, "When you were sentenced to 8 years, but in a year and a half, someone told you that the sentence was wrong, but what is the concept of a year and a half?" It's 547 days and a half! This is to be buckled on the wall with your fingers! When you come out, people don't care if you're wrongly convicted or not, you're a jailed person! in case of? But this is one in ten thousand is one hundred percent disaster for the person involved!

Juror No. 9 had experienced the humiliation of being called a rightist, he was insulted, trampled, and he even had the idea of taking his own life, but once a girl said behind his back, "Bear with me, don't be afraid, don't be afraid", completely dispelling the idea of taking his own life. Juror No. 9 wanted to be the girl at the time, the one who helped someone in despair. Because he knew too well the warmth, the desire for care, for a desperate person, he chose to believe that the boy was innocent even more when there was a loophole in the clue, when there was a possibility that the boy would be found innocent.

There's a line in The Great Gatsby that says, "Whenever you want to criticize someone, remember that not everyone in the world has those advantages you have." "Among these 12 jurors, I saw the side of the city servant, the barbaric and unreasonable side, the disorderly side, but I also saw the friendly and caring side, the sympathetic side, the rational analysis side, when different classes get together, the middle and high classes, they show a reasonable and disciplined side, and the people at the bottom of society are often linked to vulgarity, but when the 12 jurors tell their stories, I often sympathize with people at the bottom of society, they are devastated by life. Life shapes their character, and their voices are often not heard and recognized. When we don't know right or wrong, we should choose to side with the weak.

Not everything we will experience, not everything we can understand, but we should always have a compassionate heart, just like in this film, when the clue evidence is not enough to confirm the crimes of the rich second generation, in the face of life, we should be in awe, we should have a compassionate heart, we should also be critical to confirm, rather than make a judgment, otherwise it will be a fall of life...

I recommend you to watch this film "Twelve Citizens"!
