Only gentlemen can do this, because their ideological realm is high, there are no low-level dark thoughts, and villains blindly let their low-level dark thoughts grow freely, so there is rarely truth in their bodies and hearts.

And once a person loses his reality or is not real enough, he will lose his future and even his life. There is a person named Yu Fu in "Yu Ion", who learned lacquer skills from others. Someone told him that with a paste boiled with lacquer leaves and in lacquer, the benefits could be doubled. After he did so, he transported the ointment and lacquer to the Kingdom of Wu. A Wu guoren saw that the quality of his paint was very good, and agreed to trade in the short term. He was very happy, so he took out the ointment and put it into the paint and waited for the deal. When it came time to trade, the man saw that the paint cover was new, suspected that it was fraudulent, and changed it to about 20 days before trading. But by then, the paint was broken. He could not return home, so he begged and died in the kingdom of Wu. If he had done something, then he would not have suffered such a fate. He lifted the stone and smashed himself to death.

Higashiyama Kuiyi said, "Only by abandoning oneself can one see the truth." "We are often inconsistent in terms of certain interests, so only by letting go of selfishness can we become real. There is a person named Zuo Xiong in the Zizhi Tongjian. In that year, when he was serving as Shang Shu Ling, he recommended Zhou Ju to serve as Shang Shu. Later, he recommended Feng Zhiyou to have the talent of a general. However, Feng Zhi had committed embezzlement, and Zhou Ju impeached him for this. However, he said, "The Holy Will asked me to recommend talents who are fierce in martial arts, not to recommend talents with pure and noble character." Zhou Ju replied, "The Holy Will is for you to recommend Wu Meng's talents, but it also does not teach you to recommend people who have committed the crime of embezzlement." Zhou Ju did not cater to him. In the end, he realized his mistake and apologized to Zhou Ju, saying, "I have been a subordinate of Feng Zhi's father, and I am good friends with Feng Zhi. It is my fault that you are impeaching me for this. He finally let go of his selfishness and became real. Later, he became a generation of famous courtiers, and this is not unrelated to his dare to face the truth. This also tells us that if a person wants to achieve a career or be a capital person, he must really do things and be a person.

And to do things really, we often have to bear certain risks or tribulations. For example, if you tell the truth and expose the truth of some things to the world, it may endanger the interests of some people, so they will talk to you and even give you a stumbling block behind your back. There is also a situation where we are doing things in a real way, and some people may mistakenly believe that we are perfunctory and engaging in falsehood. In the "Night Sailing Ship", it is recorded that when Shi Bi served as the minister of the plains, he was just in time for the imperial court to report the party members, but the plains claimed that there were none, and the imperial court repeatedly issued edicts urging them. He was also specially sent to rebuke him: "Of the six counties in Qingzhou, the other five have party members, so why is it that only Pingyuan County has no party members?" Shi Bi said, "Those five counties have their own, but the plains have none." If I had to curry favor with my superiors and frame good people, then every household in Plain County could be a party member. If you want to force me, I will only die, and I will never frame anyone!" He almost buried himself because of this, but he did not betray his righteous self.

It can be seen that in order to be true or to be as close to the truth as possible, it is necessary to have a sufficiently noble character as the cornerstone. A person of sufficiently noble character can be true or as real as possible, and the more true a person is, the more noble and pure he is. Such a person is a person in the true sense, a person who can stand up to the mirror.
