On the afternoon of November 15, Wang Xiangwang, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Working Committee of the East Lake High-tech Zone, and Liu Jie, director of the Management Committee of the East Lake High-tech Zone, went to Wuhan University of Technology to visit Professor Zhang Qingjie, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Wuhan University of Technology, to investigate the academician team research group and the micro-semiconductor refrigeration chip (TEC) industrialization project and hold a symposium.

Xin Sijin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University of Technology, accompanied the visit, Vice Presidents Wang Qiankun and Wu Chaozhong attended the symposium, and Tang Xinfeng, Chairman of the China Thermoelectric Society and Chief Professor of the State Key Laboratory of New Materials Composite Technology of Wuhan University of Technology, introduced the relevant situation.

In the semiconductor thermoelectric materials and micro-device research room, when they heard that the materials and equipment in the research room have achieved independent research and development, the high-tech zone was very excited. At present, the research laboratory has established an annual output of 100,000 TEC chips test line, with completely independent intellectual property rights of the key indicators of TEC chips have reached the international advanced level, refrigeration power density is 2-3 times that of similar products at home and abroad, and has passed the reliability experiment of an optical communication company in Optics Valley, in line with the requirements of localization of micro TEC chips.

Wang Xiangwang said that the East Lake High-tech Zone and Wuhan University of Technology have long and in-depth cooperation in the introduction of talents and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and have achieved fruitful results. Academician Zhang Qingjie, as the leading goose of the "academician economy" in the field of thermoelectric research, chose to industrialize TEC chip technology in the Optics Valley, which will play an important role in strengthening the regional optical communication industry chain. Optics Valley will deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on scientific and technological innovation, adhere to scientific and technological innovation as the first driving force to lead high-quality development, promote scientific and technological innovation with greater efforts, support enterprises to give full play to the role of scientific and technological innovation subjects, and accelerate the market-oriented application of scientific and technological achievements with gold medal "shop small two" services to promote "blossoming and fruitfulness".

Semiconductor refrigeration, also known as thermoelectric refrigeration, has the advantages of no refrigerant, no noise, small size, short response time, accurate control temperature, etc., which can achieve accurate temperature control within 0.1 °C, and is an efficient solution for devices with high requirements for temperature accuracy such as optical communication modules. In September this year, the team of academician Zhang Qingjie registered and established Wuhan Xinsaell Technology Co., Ltd. in Optics Valley to engage in the industrialization of TEC chip research and development projects. Zhang Qingjie is the chief scientist of Xinxaar Technology, Tang Xinfeng is the chairman, and Professor Yan Yonggao, doctoral supervisor of Wuhan University of Technology, is the general manager.

Song Zhiping and Xia Yamin, deputy directors of the Management Committee of East Lake High-tech Zone, participated in the investigation.
