The second son, Zhu Zaiyuan, was born to Princess Wang Guifei, who was born in jiajing for five years and was made crown prince in the eighteenth year of Jiajing. In the twenty-eighth year of Xijing, he also fell ill and died.

Muzong was born in the sixteenth year of Jiajing (1537), and his mother was Princess Du Kang. He and Sejong's fourth son, Princess Lu Jingfei, were both crowned kings on the same day when He was made crown prince. He was given the title of King of Yu and Zaizhen the Prince of Jing. Sejong's four sons all died less than a year after birth.

Sejong listened to the Daoist priests and thought that he had killed Kezi, so after the death of the prince, he not only delayed the appointment of the crown prince, but also did not meet with Muzong (Yu Wang) and King Jing, and asked them to move out of the palace and live in the Yu Wangfu and the Jingwang Mansion respectively. Muzong was relatively generous, but King Jing was ambitious, and between words he hoped that Yue Ci would be made crown prince. Sejong received information and ordered King Jing to leave the capital and move to the so-called "fiefdom" of De'an, Hubei Province, in the 40th year of Jiajing. Four years later, King Jing died of illness in De'an. However, Sejong still refused to make Muzong crown prince.
