"Lupin III" is a very old manga, the original author Kato Kazuhiko died in 2019, created this manga in 1967, adapted into an anime in 1971, there are dozens of theatrical works, many well-known characters have worked on the theatrical version, the most famous of which should be Miyazaki Hayao. Now that the anime has been updated to the sixth season, what does that mean? To this day, it still has a high popularity and has not been eliminated with the times, which is remarkable.
So what are the groundbreaking influences of this enduring work? It should be the first in modern Japanese works to have the snitch thief as the protagonist, and in the past there were also rogue novels, but they did not travel around the world so much. There are many works influenced by it, such as "Three Sisters of Cat's Eye" and "Detective Conan".
"Lupin III" is three tough guys plus a cunning woman, "Cat's Eye Three Sisters" is three sexy thief cats plus a confused policeman, all in order to steal famous works to go south and north, "Lupin III" is relatively violent and bloody, and "Cat's Eye Three Sisters" is much milder. The way the older generation of cartoonists portray characters is really powerful, can not use a sentence or even a paragraph to summarize the legendary woman of Feng Fujizi, she is sexy and charming and cunning and sinister her own people pit, sometimes reliable and trustworthy, the outside line shows that she is always calm, and Lupin is simply a golden partner, deep inside she is a lonely cute and loved girl, in short, a very complex person. Tsuyoshi Aoyama, the author of "Detective Conan", did not shy away from saying that the inspiration for the creation of the two female characters in the work was to split Feng Fujiko in half, one was Kudo Yukiko, who was good at communicating and showing the feminine charm, and the other was Belmode, who was able to walk in the dark.
"Detective Conan" sister work "Magic Quick Fight", the protagonist is the strange thief Kidd II, another high-IQ flying thief who goes south and north, this is not a reference to Lupin III, the name has similarities. Running in the dark of the night, turning the police around, and exposing the crimes of the wicked to the public, in the name of thieves, but in fact punishing adultery and eliminating evil, such a setting has endured for a long time. The most similar character in the American comic should be Batman, but Batman is too rich and has no intention of being a snitch.
"Lupin III" and "Detective Conan" have been carried twice, and there are two theatrical versions with different styles but they are not incompatible. As a fan of "Detective Conan", I feel that it is better than the theatrical version of "Detective Conan" alone, and other directors can portray the characters in "Detective Conan", which is really indescribable.
