Tickellia hodgsoni is a bird of the genus Grebe in the family Grebe. Total length 100 mm.
The eyes and the sides of the head are dark gray, the eyebrow lines are pale gray, and the forehead and the top of the head are maroon. The upper body is olive green and the waist is slightly stained yellow.
The tail is dark brown with olive-green feathers and two pairs of outermost tail feathers that are white inside. The chin, throat, and upper chest are gray, and the rest of the lower body is bright yellow.
It inhabits dense evergreen forests at an altitude of about 2500 meters. In Chinese mainland, it is distributed in Yunnan and other places. The type of origin of this species is in Sikkim.
