The Oriental Reed Warbler in the Field Manual of Chinese Birds No. 961 (scientific name: Acrocephalus orientalis) is an animal of the genus Reed Warbler in the family Warbler family.
Body length 18-19 cm, weight 22-29 g. Slightly larger brown reed warbler. Has a pronounced skin-yellow eyebrow stripe.
The upper body is olive-brown. The lower body is milky yellow. The first primary flight feather is no longer than the primary covert. The iris is brown; the upper mouth is brown, the lower mouth is pinkish; the feet are gray.
Its natural habitats are lakes, rivers, ponds, reed swamps and other waters or near the waters of plants and reeds and grasses.
It is often active alone or in pairs, sexually active, and often jumps and climbs frequently between grass stems or shrub branches.
It feeds on beetles, goldenrods, lepidoptera larvae, and insects such as ants, beanwomen, and aquatic insects, as well as other invertebrates such as spiders, snails, and a small number of plant fruits and seeds.
This species is mainly distributed in East and Southeast Asia. Southeastern Siberia, Mongolia, Korea, Japan, wintering in India, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Indochina Peninsula.
In China, it is distributed in North China and South China.
