Grammy Award winner and Tony and Emmy nominee Sara Bareilles will once again star in "The Waitress," a role that will return to Broadway when the Broadway Theater reopens.

The show will begin September 2 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (the musical was originally staged at the Broadway Brooks Atkinson Theatre across the street. )

Currently, the limited ticket sale for "The Waitress" will last until January 9, 2022, and until October 17, Barreilles will take center stage.

Grammy winner Barryes returns to "Waitress"

Barryes scored the play for a 2007 film and was nominated for Tony. The following year, she began playing Jenna, replacing the original star Jesse Mueller.

In April 2016, after the world premiere at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts, "The Waitress" opened on Broadway. The Broadway musical made history as the first musical to be entirely female-led (starring Barryes, director Diane Paulus, screenwriter Jesse Nelson and choreographer Lorraine Lataro are all women).
