Manager Rozer has used 3 centre-backs in the last two games and kept all clean sheets, and tonight he is expected to use this system as well. However, Rozer also revealed that there are no new injuries in the team but no players have returned, which means that nine players, including Renner, Emre Jan and Haaland, are still unable to play. Rozer said he could use some U23 players tonight, with Young French defender Zagadou expected to get some playing time.

Ajax drew away to Herakles last weekend to end a three-game winning streak in all competitions, in which Ajax sent all the main players, but the opposing goalkeeper Kaihang contributed several saves. At the moment, only veteran goalkeeper Stecklenburg and substitute defender Carabel are injured, and the rest of the players can play.
