During the speech, Xie Jun reviewed the history of China's independent design of satellite navigation systems and shared the development process of Beidou satellite navigation systems from the establishment of the project to the present.

On June 23, 2020, the 55th Beidou satellite was successfully launched, marking the successful completion of the deployment of the Beidou global satellite navigation system. On July 31, 2020, the Beidou-3 system opened its services, and at this point, the Beidou system entered a new stage and a new era of global services.

"Behind the success of the Beidou satellite navigation system, it condenses the painstaking efforts of generations of astronauts to continue to struggle, and also contains the true color of the Chinese nation's unremitting self-improvement. Xie Jun said that the Beidou satellite system is a heavy weapon of the country and a beacon in the sky, and like water, electricity, and Internet infrastructure projects, it will affect everyone's life. After 26 years of repeated tests, the Beidou-3 satellite system has achieved 100% localization of key instrument components, established a complete inter-satellite link, and contributed Chinese wisdom and Chinese strength to the global service.

"The biggest advantage of the Beidou navigation system is that it integrates communication and navigation functions, and has taken a Chinese road in terms of high-precision service capabilities." According to Xie Jun, at present, the Beidou navigation system has launched 59 satellites, including: 4 Beidou-1 satellites, all of which have been decommissioned from orbit; 20 Beidou-2 satellites, currently working in orbit 15; Beidou-3 has a total of 35 satellites, including 5 test stars and 30 networking stars.

"Independent innovation, open integration, unity of purpose, the pursuit of excellence." In Xie Jun's view, independent innovation is the core value of the Beidou project and the active choice of Beidou people to cope with various challenges. The Beidou spirit of the new era reflects the firm determination of Chinese astronauts to stand at the height of national security and national interests, take the initiative, aim at the first-class, adhere to innovation, and achieve beyond development, and is also a vivid practice of the rich development of the aerospace spirit in the new era.

Xie Jun said that at present, the Beidou satellite navigation system has been widely used in transportation, agriculture, forestry and fishery, hydrological monitoring, meteorological monitoring, communication and power, disaster relief and mitigation, public safety and other fields, and has produced significant economic and social benefits. The Beidou-based navigation service has been adopted by e-commerce, mobile intelligent terminal manufacturing, location services and other manufacturers, and has widely entered the field of mass consumption and people's livelihood in China, changing people's production and lifestyle.
