Clark Gable (February 1, 1901 – November 16, 1960) was an American film actor born in Ohio.

In 1931, Clark Gable made his first film, The Desert of Color. In 1932, he was elected one of the "Top Ten Highest-Grossing Film Actors in Hollywood" for his film "Red Dust". In 1934, he won the Best Actor Award at the 7th Academy Awards for his comedy "One Night Gone With". In 1939, Clark Gable co-starred with Vivien Leigh in the film Gone with the Wind, and was nominated for the 12th Academy Awards for Best Actor for his role as Brad. In 1945, he starred in the film "Angry Sea" directed by Victor Fleming. In 1953, he starred in the movie "Red Dust". In 1959, he was nominated for Best Actor at the 16th Golden Globe Awards for "Teacher's Love". Clark Gable died in Los Angeles on November 16, 1960, from a myocardial infarction.

In 1995, he was ranked 36th in Empire Magazine's list of the "100 Sexiest Movie Stars in Film History". In 1999, he was selected by the Motion Picture Association of America as the 7th "Greatest Actor of a Hundred Years."
