Choice of stones
The stones we use are basically pebbles, generally picked up, if you live by the sea or by the river is better, if there is no sea or river painters around, then you can go to the nearby river or park to pick up some.
Stone painting of the stone choice depends on personal preferences, generally speaking, there is no shape, size requirements, but the surface should be as flat as possible, do not have too many potholes, affect the beauty, too smooth is not very good, not easy to color.
Choice of pigments
Propylene paint is recommended for stone painting pigments.
Acrylic pigment is mainly used in various decorative paintings, such as stone paintings, hand-painted walls, etc., it has the characteristics of easy drying and long storage time.
Brush selection
Flat peaks, round heads can be, and there must be one to three hook pens, convenient for drawing various lines, details. 1. The stone is ready.
The stones that are picked up should be washed and dried, and it is best to keep the shape of the stone intact and not have bumps and defects. The bottom of my stone is flat, just enough to stand up, so that when it is painted, it saves the bracket.
2. Draft.
It is recommended that you use colored pencil to start the manuscript, and if you use pencil, there will be reflection when taking pictures. It's like the chart below. Artists who can grasp the shape and body can also directly use the hook pen to dip the light color to start the draft.
3. Paving color (first time)
The back of the petals of the lotus flower: rose red + a small amount of purple, add water
The petal front of the lotus flower: titanium dioxide + water
Lotus and stem: grass green + water
After the first dry coating, we will find that the colors are uneven and the strokes are obvious. Then apply it a second time.
4. Spread the color (dry thoroughly and then apply a second time)
The color matching of each part is unchanged, and the water can be slightly more. This way the picture is not too dry.
If you are in a hurry, you can use the hair dryer to dry, in fact, it is best to dry naturally, and you can draw somewhere else while waiting or have a cup of tea to rest.
After the second pass of drying, we will find that the color is much more uniform than the first pass.
5. The back of the petals transitions.
The back of the petals gradually transitions from the tip to the root from rose red + purple to white. Take your time and don't rush, the smaller the chromatic aberration level, the more natural the transition. The uniform transition color can produce a sense of luster, and the petals are the focus of the whole picture, so it should take more time and patience.
6. Petal front treatment.

After painting the petals on the back, the front is well handled. White can not be applied again, after drying, the root is close to the position of the lotus, with a little grass green and water gradually blended outward, it looks like the root is deep and the middle is shallow.
7. Coloring of lotus ponchos and stems.
Lotus canopy color: emerald green + water
Lotus painting method: emerald green + point black = dark green, dot a few points, after drying, use a hook pen to dot white on these points.
Flower bud color: ochre + white, drawn with a hook line; the top point is yellow and white.
Stem color: emerald green + a small amount of rose red. (Note that the left side of the stem is light and the right side is dark)
8. Coloring of lotus leaves.
Transitions of lotus leaf color: emerald green + black = dark; emerald green + white = light; transition from dark to bright layer by layer.
When transitioning to a large area, the colors should be harmonized a little more at one time, and do not be afraid of waste, so as not to cause poor connection.
Where the leaves and petals meet, color them with a small hook pen.
9. Coloring of leaf veins.
Leaf vein color: emerald green + white = pink green, first draw the leaf vein. Then use dark green or light black to tick the center line, and do not break the pen when the line is drawn.
10. Bottom painting.
The bottom is first wet with a pen dipped in water, and then the emerald green, lake blue, grass green, and dark green are randomly connected, and the color moisture is a little more, so that the various colors are more fully blended.
11. Coloring of the background.
Lake blue + a small amount of grass green gradually transitions to the white on top of the stone.
There are inevitably edges between the color bars, you can use the natural color plus a small amount of titanium dioxide, and point painting at the edge, just like the white light of the pool, I call it "point breaking line".
Add a few pieces of duckweed to the bottom of the stone, and add some shade appropriately.
12.Sug-along moon shadow
Originally, the previous step was completed, but when I looked at the left and right in the distance, I always felt that the upper left corner was empty, so I wanted to draw a snake to add enough, plus a round of moon shadow.
Moon shadow color: orange yellow + lemon yellow + white, gradually transitioning from bottom to top. Finally break the line with a white dot.
