On the morning of April 27, Huang Yonggang, a well-known solid mechanics scientist and academician of Northwest University, made an academic report entitled "Extendable Inorganic Electronic Devices" for teachers and students in the lecture hall of the library of the university, and was hired as an honorary professor of Xiang university. Zhou Yichun, president of Xiangtan University, presided over the academic lecture and presented Huang Yonggang with an appointment certificate. Through three generations of research and optimization, Huang Yonggang's team has developed an extendable machineless part that is now highly efficient and functional and practically usable. In the lecture, Huang Yonggang used humorous and understandable language, rich examples and metaphors, and the comparison between past, present and future inorganic electronic devices as a guide, and elaborated on the development and application of "extendable inorganic electronic devices" in a simple and concise manner, fully demonstrating the superiority and necessity of extendable devices combined with the human body.

"Theory precedes the experiment, but the experiment is the only criterion for testing truth." The process of experimentation is long, Huang Yonggang said that the team in the third generation of research to learn from the previous two generations of research experience, the use of functional devices between the thin linear wave connection, and finally to achieve the device function of high flexibility, extensibility and high coverage, so that the research product has been truly industrialized.

In the lecture, Huang Yonggang used pictures of different colors to assist in the physical video explanation, and presented the original abstract and difficult mechanical theory more intuitively and clearly, which opened the eyes of the students present and increased their interest sharply. "There are dead ends on the road of scientific research, but there is also a door that you can't find on your own, and interdisciplinary communication and connection can open this door." Huang Yonggang stressed.

In the interactive session of the lecture, Huang Yonggang answered the students' questions about how to break through the bottleneck and how to further innovate the extendable electronic device technology in the research, and fully affirmed the new ideas put forward by the students, encouraged everyone to combine theory and practice, and made the future research results achieve the unity of basic science and industrialization.

Huang Yonggang is a well-known solid mechanics scientist, mainly researching the mechanical behavior of materials and electronic devices, pioneering the field of malleable inorganic electronic devices, creating a strain gradient theory based on microscopic mechanisms, and was elected an academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2010, an academician of the National Academy of Engineering, a foreign academician of the European Academy of Sciences and a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017.
