Sichuan News Network Bazhong, 7 July (Bazhong News Network reporter Li Chaowei) July 7 is the anniversary of the "July 7 Incident." On this day 79 years ago, the "July 7 Incident" that shocked China and foreign countries occurred. After 8 years of heroic struggle, Chinese finally defeated the Japanese army. At the same time, it also made indelible contributions to the victory of the world anti-fascist war.

Nowadays, there are fewer and fewer surviving anti-war veterans, and a veteran of the War of Resistance is a living history of the War of Resistance, and their heroic deeds will never be forgotten. On July 6, a reporter from the Pakistan-China News Network approached Xu Enguang, a veteran of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, listened to him talk about those events during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and felt the strong and indomitable spirit of the veterans of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

At the age of 8, he joined the Red Army Boy Scout Regiment and returned home due to illness and could not go to the front

At about 12:00 on July 6, the reporter drove to Sanbao Village, Sushanping, Bazhou District, Bazhong City, and then walked along the rugged stone path between the mountains for a few minutes and met the elderly Xu Enguang. At this time, the 94-year-old Xu Enguang had just eaten lunch, sitting on a stool and preparing to rest, when he saw the reporter come to his home, Xu Enguang got up and took a crutch and asked the reporter to sit down quickly. Although his hair was gray, hunched over, and his ears were back, he spoke sonorously and powerfully. After the reporter explained his intentions, Xu Enguang's face showed a rare smile and told the deeds of the anti-Japanese battlefield.

According to Xu Enguang's recollection, 86 years ago, he just turned 8 years old and left home to join the Red Army Boy Scout Regiment. "At that time, I joined the Boy Scouts with a tall Hubei man and followed the Red Army to Guangyuan, Zhaohua and other places to fight, but because I was sick in Zhaohua, I could not go to the front. So I went home and waited for the troops' orders. ”

Fleeing famine to a mechanical school to learn how to drive cars and tanks

Xu Enguang said that after fleeing from famine, he entered the Army Mechanization School in Changsha, Hunan Province, and began to learn car driving and maintenance techniques. "At that time, I learned to use rifles, bayonets, drive cars, repair cars, etc. in school. In his spare time, he learned the important weapon on the battlefield- the tank, at that time, the school did not have tanks, the teacher only taught theory, there was no practical training, so it was difficult to learn. ”

On December 8, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and the Pacific War broke out. Subsequently, I was assigned to the tank battalion of the newly organized 22nd Division of the 5th Army of the Guangxi Army and rushed to Tonggu to block the Japanese army's northward advance. After 12 days of bloody fighting, on both sides of the Burma road front, the Japanese army suffered many casualties, and we suffered many casualties..." Xu Enguang said, and after the defeat of the troops, they entered the Savage Mountain. "Savage Mountain is in poor condition, dark and damp, often infested with poisonous birds and beasts, and mosquitoes in the forest are also swarms, so we must remain vigilant at all times."

Driving tanks in the dark to search for enemy troops, he almost fell into the Japanese ambush circle

Xu Enguang said that in 1943, because he could drive a car, he was arranged to learn to drive a tank, and soon after he was incorporated into the first battalion of chariots directly under him. "The first day we received our gear, and the next morning we set off for the front line. But the tanks did not dare to turn on the lights at night, afraid that the Japanese would see it and bomb it with aircraft. ”

Xu Enguang said, "At that time, everyone drove tanks to follow closely, so more than 100 tanks successfully arrived at the combat site." Because of his technical skills, he was appointed as the commander of the tank and commanded the machine gunners and gunners of the vehicle. One night in 1944, the tank battalion was almost ambushed by the Japanese.

"At that time, the tank battalion attacked a town as a vanguard force. Fortunately, we did not rush directly into the town, but searched along the road. Xu Enguang said that when he and his comrades in the 3rd Company drove the tank separately to search, they could not find the enemy tank, so they stuck their heads out of the tank, just saw a few grass piles moving, and found that the Japanese small tanks were hiding in the grass on the mountain. Xu Enguang said here, "It's so dangerous, otherwise you will fall into the trap of the Japanese army." ”

Since the victory of that battle, the comrades-in-arms have fought many victorious battles one after another.

"Chinese people are united, and they are the strongest!"

In October 1943, Xu Enguang and his troops entered Savage Mountain and occupied the Hukang River Valley. With strong firepower and roundabout tactics, the troops overrode the cross-country mountains and captured Myitkyina, a key area in northern Burma, connecting the Yunnan Burma Highway in Yunnan.

But this battle was not so easy to fight, when the troops passed through Savage Mountain and reached Mengguan. During the battle, a tank next to me was hit by a Japanese magnet mine, and one of my comrades broke his leg and injured his face. As Xu Enguang spoke, his voice became quieter, and this incident made him never forget.

After Xu Enguang's tank battalion faced this dilemma, it immediately looked for a way to solve the dilemma, and finally Xu Enguang and his comrades successfully made the magnet mine unable to function by wrapping the barbed wire on the top of the tank with thin mud, avoiding unnecessary sacrifice.

"After a few battles, the Japanese were beaten to death. Later, when cleaning up the battlefield, he encountered the scattered Japanese soldiers, who were hungry and came out looking for food, so they were taken back to the garrison and locked up in a confinement room for interrogation. Due to the language barrier, these Japanese people do not speak. Xu Enguang said that in the later battles, the troops were victorious one after another.

"On August 15, 1945, after the surrender of the Japanese army. I missed my hometown for a long time, so I set out on my way home. "Xu Enguang said that after returning home, he has been living in Sanbao Village, Sushanping, Bazhou District." Resisting Japan and saving the country is the duty of every Chinese of us. Chinese people are united and the strongest!"
