The theme of this competition is to simulate mars landing, Mars exploration and Mars base construction and Mars rescue and other challenging competition projects, contestants to design and build their own robots, write robot operating programs, on-site debugging and operation of robots, in the specified time to complete the competition tasks.

The reporter saw at the scene that the contestants were in groups of 5, methodically assembling and building the robot, programming and designing, and participating in the on-site competition. Various robots automatically advance, turn, climb over obstacles, collect energy blocks, and complete tasks according to instructions in the competition field.

"Each group of contestants needs to build five robots, and use two robots to rescue the other two damaged robots through sensors or other means." Ao Feihu, the chief judge of the competition, said that the robot must drive according to the prescribed route and bypass the obstacles, while collecting energy blocks to return to the base camp location to prepare for mars development. In the competition, the robot sends the energy block back by pushing, and the score is 1, if the energy block is clipped up and brought back on the robot's back with a robotic arm, the score is 1.5. "It's difficult for children to design both the robot's chassis, the program and the robotic arm."

The youngest contestant on the scene is Chen Xingcheng, a first-grade student of Bashu Ivy League Primary School, who is only 6 and a half years old. At the scene of the game, he held a remote control and commanded the robot to push the energy block, very focused. "I think it's fun, I'll be back later."

Lin Tongyu, a 6th grade student at Datong Road Experimental Primary School in Yuzhong District, has been learning programming for 6 years and has loved robot programming since he was a child. At the scene of the competition, the mechanical arm designed by him and his friends quickly clipped the energy block, put it on the robot's back, and quickly completed the rescue plan. "It's interesting, I want to work on programming in the future." Lin Tongyu said.
